Are you confident cooking meat on the BBQ but when it comes to seafood you get a bit nervous and a little unsure? Book into our BBQ Seafood class and we can teach you how to cook seafood to perfection on the BBQ.
On arrival at the session, you will be provided with a cold beer, an apron and welcomed by our Chefs who will outline expected competencies from the session, discuss the format of the day and introduce the menu which includes:

•BBQ King Prawns with Chilli, Lemon & Herb Pesto
•BBQ Spice Rubbed Tandoori Salmon with Mango and Lime Salsa
•BBQ Squid Salad with Snow Peas, Bean Shoots & Nahm Jihm Dressing
•Whole BBQ Baked Snapper with Mediterranean Marinade
In our BBQ Seafood lesson, we look at how and why we want to achieve really moist and crisp seafood, including key buying tips to ensure you are purchasing and receiving exactly what you set out to; the freshest possible product to create a dish that makes your guests cheer.
We then get straight in to demonstrating the BBQ King Prawn recipe where you will replicate the dish demonstrated by the Chef and prepare and cook the dish yourself before sitting down together as group to share in the first dish with a detailed wine tutorial matched to the first course.
We then embark on the next courses covering all parts of BBQ myths and secrets as well as a demonstration on the remaining three dishes before being given the tongs and lifters to re-create your recipes yourself.
Throughout this segment the Chefs will guide you through cooking each dish as well as answering any questions or challenges you face at home with your own BBQ or certain seafood recipes!
You will finish this session with confidence to replicate these gourmet BBQ seafood dishes at home as well as being well-equipped to cook different cuts of seafood including crustaceans, fillets and whole fish.
We will send you home knowing that you’re a qualified BBQ Seafood Chef and will be crowned in glory when you entertain at home.
This experience voucher is valid for 12 months from date of purchase.
Classes are held at the Shafston Hotel (Brisbane) and the Wharf Hotel (Melbourne). In Sydney, classes rotate between venues including Centennial Park (Eastern Suburbs) and Willoughby Hotel (Willoughby).
Morning sessions are available every Saturday and some Sundays which go from 11:30-2:30pm. In busier months we also offer an afternoon session from 3:30-6:30pm on both Saturdays and Sundays.

Classes are totally self-contained and can be enjoyed on your own or in a group. Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult to ensure a successful day barbequing for all. All aprons, equipment and ingredients are supplied fresh from our suppliers for a great days cooking.
We operate with 12 – 20 people in each cooking class plus 2 experienced chefs. If the minimum number of participants is not reached, you will be contacted via email the Thursday prior to your experience to offer an alternate date for the class.
This experience is not suitable for spectators.
This experience is not affected by the weather.
The class includes all ingredients, wine tasting, salad, spring water and a fantastic meal to celebrate together. The classes are both a demonstration and hands on and there is an interesting wine tutorial. For corporate groups, we can tailor the cooking class to incorporate team exercises.
This experience may be suitable for people with a hearing impairment.
