Even if you’ve never stepped foot inside an artist’s gallery, this art tour of Melbourne is the perfect way to get re-acquainted with your inner art enthusiast! Join us for a look at some of Melbourne’s hidden art studios and learn about art from the experts in a low-key environment!

Experience a walking tour that travels to the hidden commercial galleries in the deep dark lanes of Melbourne; to the artists’ studios in the unnamed buildings!

Our art tour is about breaking down the barriers and the intimidation of walking into a clean, white, cold space - the fear of not knowing how to look at, feel, or describe art. This tour is perfect for the beginner in art appreciation and you do not need any prior knowledge to join in on the fun. The itinerary is always changing and the destinations won’t be revealed to you until the day of the walk to add that element of surprise.

You’ll experience three hours of chatting, walking and listening to the art experts and you’ll receive a ‘starter pack’ which will help you continue on your journey of art discovery before finishing with a glass of wine and cheese platter.

Your guide loves a brisk walk - so come prepared to cover some serious ground in the Melbourne CBD and at the same time, grow your appreciation and understanding of the arts!

Rated 4 out of 5 by this was an average experience I was impressed with the knowledge that Berie shared with us and she spoke from her experiences. I liked seeing different places around Melbourne. I how ever was disappointed that we went on a tram ride out to Fitzroy with no gallery to see. This is what I would have loved to have seen and knowing that I would not get to go to those places made the experience a little lacking. 29 April 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by A unique and interesting experience. Bernie is a well informed and up to date guide. I learnt a lot from the Walk-to-Art tour and especially enjoyed being introduced to unique art installations I never knew existed. If you enjoy modern art, street art and exploring hidden parts of the City, then this tour won't disappoint. 21 April 2013
Rated 3 out of 5 by The guide thought street artists were only interested in making money The guide told us from the start that she was engaged in marketing and selling art but the tour commentary ended up centring around this rather than the fantastic pieces we saw. We looked at work that had a clear social and political intention but heard instead about how the pieces had been to market exhibitions and sell work. The tour of Melbourne's art was then cut short so we could go on an extended tram trip to see the studio of an artist who the guide was managing. 21 January 2013
Rated 2 out of 5 by Not what I was expecting, I thought there would be more diversity, focus was mostly street art. While the guide knew her stuff, for me the tour was not what I expected. I thought it would involve visiting various artist studios and lesser known galleries, however it was predominanly street art and a visit to ACCA. I did not think it was good value for money as all the art we saw was free or in public spaces anyway. The guide had a tendancy to race away from the group as we moved from place to place, although I did learn the difference between street art and graffiti. I think if this was your particular interest you would enjoy it, but if you perfer diversity and something for all tastes this may not fit the bill. While it was an interesting and novel experience, I think if I had paid for it myself I would have been very disappointed. 20 January 2013

Rated 5 out of 5 by You need to be a fast walker for this one. There was the thought that the guide wanted to be at an opening for a new exhibition, but who could blame her after the great spots she added to my knowledge of Melbourne gems! 20 July 2012
