During this scuba diving adventure for certified divers you will explore the site of the HMAS Brisbane, located just off the Sunshine Coast, Queensland. While scuba diving you will not only get to explore the impressive ruins of the HMAS Brisbane, you will also see a wonderful range of marine life.

On the day of your experience we meet at the dive centre and you will be given some brief paperwork to fill in. You will also be fitted out in your scuba equipment. Make sure you bring your dive certificate card! There is then a short minibus ride to our dive boat.

After loading the dive gear onto the vessel we start the boat and quietly motor through the waterways, out into the open sea. During this time you will be thoroughly briefed on the dive boat features and safety procedures. There will also be a thorough dive brief while we are heading out to the river mouth.

It’s only a short 12-15 minute comfortable ride out to the site of the HMAS Brisbane. Our dive staff will help you put on your dive gear and ready you for the dive ahead.

Once onsite our dive staff will guide you on an orientation dive around the outside of the ship. There is a host of BIG marine life to be seen! It is not uncommon to see three or four huge Queensland groupers on the sand at the bow. Two huge bull rays live at the stern. In fact, you will marvel at the abundant marine life all over the ship – nudibranchs, anemone fish, lion fish, schools of juvenile red emperor, trevally, king fish and much, much more.

We’ll serve you some tasty continental pastries, tea and coffee for morning tea and then you’ll do it all again. On your second dive you can choose to go inside the ship. Once again our dive staff will help you explore the galley, the captain’s cabin and the control room, which was once the nerve centre of the ship.

After the second dive it’s back to port to freshen up and enjoy some light refreshments at the dive centre.
