Experience an exhilarating driving event where you get to drive a V8 race car on a high-speed championship race track. On this experience combines to include 8 drive laps and 3 hot laps around Queensland Raceway. The ultimate V8 racing package.

Main Description

Your V8 drive day begins as you register at reception followed by a driver briefing that will you for your experience in a fully prepared V8 race car. An experienced race driver will give you information on car handling, cornering, braking and the track. After the briefing we head to pit lane where you will be fitted with a race suit and helmet.

Before jumping in the car you get to choose to drive a Holden or Ford V8.

When it’s your turn to be the driver, we’ll strap you behind the wheel of the V8, introduce you to your personal in-car coach and before long you’ll be burning rubber out of pit lane for the drive of a lifetime! Your coach will show you the fastest way around the track, showing you how to drive the best you possibly can and helping you to improve lap times and cornering techniques. You’ll be treated to 8 self-drive laps around the circuit

Once you have completed the driving component its time to complete 3 hot laps. You will be strapped into the back seat of a specially designed V8 race car. A professional race driver will have you traveling at ridiculous speeds while talking you through the experience via an intercom fitted helmet.

You can choose to purchase a DVD of your drive for an additional $45 payable on the day.

Venue:

Willowbank, Queensland – approximately 45 minutes west of Brisbane.

Session Length

Please allow at least 2-3 hours for the entire experience. Race days are held throughout the year on both weekdays and weekends on set race dates throughout the year. We run session every half hour from 7.00am to 3.00pm, sessions are subject to availability.

Guidelines:

To drive, you must hold at least a manual P-Plate license. The maximum driver height and weight is 195cm and 130kg. Drivers should be in good physical condition with no heart problems or breathing difficulties. If you are unsure about your suitability – please contact us.

Numbers:

The price quoted is for one person. There will be about 20 – 25 people in the drivers briefing. The actual drive experience is one-on-one with a coach connected to you via an intercom system similar to those that you see in international rallies.

Spectators:

Spectator entry is FREE and drivers are encouraged to bring along as many family and friends as they wish. Depending on numbers some spectators are allowed to participate in the briefing.

Weather:

The drive may be interrupted or cancelled due to inclement weather as driving at high speed on a wet track can be dangerous. Please contact the supplier to confirm the status of the day. In the case of your drive being cancelled due to weather, we will reschedule your experience for a later date.

Other Info:

You will be required to sign an indemnity form prior to participating in the experience. Your experience includes 8 laps around the circuit.

Rated 3 out of 5 by We can now tick off the V8 race cars at Ipswich Raceway from our bucket list. Suffice to say, there's room for improvement at the Ipswich Raceway v8 experience. First impression, arriving and signing indemnity forms and the briefing all felt like a sausage machine. There's a start, middle and end and the quicker you move through it, the more you're being compliant. The personal touch was missing. If you are there as a couple, don't assume you will race against one another unless you specially request to and line yourself in the chairs, which order the next driver. Small attention to detail is missing if you want an experience against a particular foe. There are to many race cars on the track at any given time. My first two laps I had to give way despite planting my foot and been up someone else's butt (figuratively speaking). It's not a race of who comes first. It is a time trial but only if you remember to ask at the end what your best and worst lap times were. 5 May 2013

Rated 4 out of 5 by The drive was excellent, my coach Ray super. My only negative is I paid $45 for the USB video, it worked only once and died. I tried several times to copy the files from the USB to my PC with it constantly failing. I finally managed to gain a copy of my video before it lost all data off the drive, very disappointing. 8 April 2013
Rated 3 out of 5 by very disapointing I bought this for my partner for christmas. Was an excellent experence but we paid for the in car video and when we got home there was no footage recorded. I contacted the raceway and told us they would fix it up and put the footage on. All I recieved back wad a $45 cheque for the price of the video. For me that ruin the whole experence. Found the service of the staff at the raceway shocking. 7 April 2013
