Live life to the fullest! Combine the best of food and wine with a hot-air balloon sunrise flight! You leave Melbourne for your hot-air balloon flight, which is followed with sparkling wine and breakfast. Then it’s off to tour some of the finest wineries in the Yarra Valley. And all this in one day!

On the day of your experience we will pick you up before sunrise from your accommodation in the Melbourne CBD. Alternatively you can meet us in the Yarra Valley. You will be advised of the exact time the evening before your flight.

Your pilot will give you a short briefing and you will be then transported to the launch site where you may choose to help with the launch or stand back and take pictures! Once all passengers are in the basket of the hot-air balloon we take off! You’ll be drifting gently over the Yarra Valley, looking down upon the sunrise-soaked land from the basket of a hot-air balloon! After your 60-minute flight you’ll enjoy a full buffet breakfast, complimented by a glass of sparkling wine.

But the day is far from over! Your winery tour is just about to begin!

After your balloon flight and breakfast we take you to Yering Station where your tour guide will teach you the finer points of wine tasting so that you can swirl, sniff and slurp your way through the afternoon and get the most out of your wine tasting experience. Then the enthusiastic and knowledgeable cellar door staff will take you through their range of benchmark award-winning wines.

The next stop is Balgownie Estate. Your lunch is prepared while the staff share some of their favourite wines with you. Sit down to a delicious meal accompanied by a glass of wine, tea/coffee and bread. Enjoy the view while you eat!

After lunch you visit Yering Farm, a small, family-owned boutique winery. Yering Farm uses traditional wine-making methods and offers a pioneering Australian ambience in the cellar door, which has a fascinating display of antique wine-making tools.

Last stop for the day is Domaine Chandon – home to the Australian operation of French champagne company Moet et Chandon. You will tour the winery and learn how sparkling wine is made. After this you will enjoy a glass of sparkling wine and some tasty platters of cheese, relish and crusty breads!

Venue:

Meet in the Melbourne CBD or Yarra Glen, Victoria – approximately 50km north-east of the Melbourne CBD.

Session Length

Flights and tours operate daily and are subject to weather and availability. However we are closed on Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day. Bookings are essential. The duration of your flight will be 60 minutes and the total experience runs from an hour before sunrise to approximately 5pm.

Guidelines:

You must be 18 years of age or over to participate in this experience. You must also be able to stand in the basket of the hot-air balloon for the 60-minute duration of the flight. Please Note: Amendment fees will apply if winery tour is rescheduled within 24 hours of departure date.

Numbers:

The price quoted is for one person. You will be in a group of between 10 and 24 people on the day.

Spectators:

Spectators are welcome to follow our ground crew during your balloon flight and may join us for breakfast at an additional cost of $25 per person.

Weather:

This experience may be affected by the weather. If your balloon flight is cancelled your winery tour will proceed and you are advised to contact us to arrange an alternate pick-up location. We will then reschedule your balloon flight for another day.

Cancellation Policy:

You will lose the full cost of your flight if you fail to show up for your flight. You may send someone else in your place if you wish. * Within 48 hours prior: No changes are permitted - passengers are advised to make their own insurance provisions in case of unforseen circumstances. Under no circumstances will flights be refunded or re-scheduled if passengers cancel or do not show * Between 48 hours and 7 days: A non-refundable $50 per person rebooking fee will be charged directly payable to the supplier; weekday flights will need to be re-scheduled on a weekday flight only. * Accommodation and Wine tour packages are non-refundable and should the flight be cancelled due to inclement weather this does not apply. * Interstate customers who's flight is cancelled due to weather may be eligible for an exchange for another RedBalloon experience. Please note a $25 cancellation fee will apply. All cancellation are at the discretion of the supplier.

If you don't mind heights and want some of the best views in Australia then this is DEFINITE YES YES YES........ p.s its an early start 4.30 pick up (worth it) 27 March 2013

Rated 5 out of 5 It was a very organised and professional experience, I felt like I was in very good hands. The fantastic pilot (Dean) and the rest of the staff & crew were very friendly. Rochford Winery is a fantastic venue and the food and staff were exceptional. I have been left with great memories and would do it all again. 13 March 2012
