Take control during this introductory training flight and experience flying from the pilot's seat! This Melbourne aircraft trial flight is your opportunity to live the dream. Take to the skies with an expert instructor, who'll assist in making your very first flying lesson and event to remember!
Your light aircraft introductory flight commences with a classroom briefing on the functions of the aircrafts controls plus all you need to know to enable you to control the aircraft on your first lesson. After briefing, the instructor will take you through the pre-flight inspection on your training aircraft before you take your place in the pilot's seat.
Your instructor will talk you through the start up, taxiing and take-off, then you take to the sky for your first real flying experience! The flight is to the south of Moorabbin airport and lasts approximately 30 minutes. During this time you will have
hands-on experience in flying the aeroplane. You will fly up to an exhilarating 2000-3000ft on your trial instructional flight!
Following the flight there will be an opportunity for you to discuss any questions you have on flight training with your instructor.
Please note: Due to the popularity of this experience, weekend spots book out well in advance. There are weekday spots readily available, but if you have a weekend date in mind please prepare yourself 4 - 5 months in advance.
This experience voucher is valid for 12 months from date of purchase.
Venue:
Moorabbin Airport, Victoria - approximately 22km southeast of the Melbourne CBD.
Session Length
Please allow 90 minutes, this includes briefing and approximately 30 minutes in the air. Bookings can be made 7 days per week during daylight hours. Please allow for a waiting period of 10 weeks for weekend bookings and 2 weeks for weekdays due to the popularity of this experience.
Guidelines:
You must be over of 15 years of age. Weight restrictions and surcharges may apply if you weigh 100kg or more - please contact us if you have any concerns as alternate arrangements can be made.
Numbers:
The price quoted is for one person. You will be one-on-one with your instructor during your trial flight.
Spectators:
Due to Civil Aviaiton Safety Authority rules the flight must only have the participant and instructor on board. However there is a waiting area with tea and coffee making facilities and amenities for people who may wish to accompany you.
Weather:
Flying may be cancelled in weather conditions that would make the flight uncomfortable for a novice. Please call the flying school if in any doubt. Any cancelled flights will be rescheduled for a later date.

Our operators and their instructors are approved by the Civil Aviation Safety Authority and are members of the Aviation Safety Foundation of Australia.

The whole experience was great. My name was on their system and they welcomed us directly. Explained a few things, saw a little video, and got in the aircraft right after. We were slightly early but they took care of us as soon as we arrived. They let us take pictures and staff was very friendly. Amazing experience!

My introductory to flight was absolutely fantastic. The instructor was very professional, answered all my questions and allowed me to do the majority of the flying correcting me only when necessary. Everyone should do this at least once.

It was the most amazing experience I have ever had. I have done bungy jumps, hot air ballooning, para sailing but this beats them all. To be able to take off and land the plane on my own is something I will never forget. The pilot was also so nice and helpful which made the flight so much more comfortable. I highly recommend this to anyone, you will not be disappointed.

This would rate as one of the greatest experiences of my 49years. I have sat beside Marcus Ambrose for three laps at Calder in his Pirtek V8 Supercar, been in the Hitachi/StuntzInc Drift Utes at Sandown and the Island. Been up in Bi-planes and helicopters all as a passenger. But to actually take the controls of Cessna and fly is just the most awesome buzz, it's now almost 24hours since I went up and I still have a smile like a Cheshire Cat. Many thanks to my beautiful wife and kids for shouting ...This would rate as one of the greatest experiences of my 49years. After a few bookings being canceled due to weather conditions, my heart pulsated from highs to lows, then in my mind the countless phew, phew that passed by me!...I got in that plane it was so surreal I didn't know what all my fuss was about: FEAR I guess. My light aircraft introductory training flight was interesting and enjoyable with a very pleasant instructor. The plane is a bit hard to get into particularly if you are larger and not so agile; once seated you are fine though.

The flight was amazing. The pilot who took me up was old hat at training pilots and made me very relaxed and calm. I was in control of the aircraft for most of the flight and it was amazing to actually be flying over Brighton Beach and turn the aircraft to then see the city off in the distance. Highly recommended!!

My experience of flying a light aeroplane was fantastic as it was always something I wanted to do as a kid. I was able to experience what it is like to have total control of flying a plane. I was able to taxi out to the runway, take off, have total control of the plane in mid air as well as landing the plane. I would recommend it to anyone who has an interest in aircraft like myself.

This was incredible. The flight instructor (Jason) was very helpful and easy to get along with. I was very scared at first, but after a while I got over it and had so much fun! I will be doing this one again for sure!
