Take control during this introductory training flight and experience flying from the pilot's seat! This Melbourne aircraft trial flight is your opportunity to live the dream. Take to the skies with an expert instructor, who'll assist in making your very first flying lesson an event to remember!
Your light aircraft introductory flight commences with a classroom briefing on the functions of the aircrafts controls plus all you need to know to enable you to control the aircraft on your first lesson. After briefing, the instructor will take you through the pre-flight inspection on your training aircraft before you take your place in the pilot's seat.
Your instructor will talk you through the start up, taxiing and take-off, then you take to the sky for your first real flying experience! The flight is to the south of Moorabbin airport and lasts approximately 30 minutes. During this time you will have
hands-on experience in flying the aeroplane. You will fly up to an exhilarating 2000-3000ft on your trial instructional flight!
Following the flight there will be an opportunity for you to discuss any questions you have on flight training with your instructor.
Please note: Due to the popularity of this experience, weekend spots book out well in advance. There are weekday spots readily available, but if you have a weekend date in mind please prepare yourself 4 - 5 months in advance.
This experience voucher is valid for 12 months from date of purchase.
Venue:
Moorabbin Airport, Victoria - approximately 22km southeast of the Melbourne CBD.
Session Length
Please allow 90 minutes, this includes briefing and approximately 30 minutes in the air. Bookings can be made 7 days per week during daylight hours. Please allow for a waiting period of 10 weeks for weekend bookings and 2 weeks for weekdays due to the popularity of this experience.
Guidelines:
You must be over of 15 years of age. Weight restrictions and surcharges may apply if you weigh 100kg or more - please contact us if you have any concerns as alternate arrangements can be made.
Numbers:
The price quoted is for one person. You will be one-on-one with your instructor during your trial flight.
Spectators:
Due to Civil Aviaiton Safety Authority rules the flight must only have the participant and instructor on board. However there is a waiting area with tea and coffee making facilities and amenities for people who may wish to accompany you.
Weather:
Flying may be cancelled in weather conditions that would make the flight uncomfortable for a novice. Please call the flying school if in any doubt. Any cancelled flights will be rescheduled for a later date.
Other Info:
Our operators and their instructors are approved by the Civil Aviation Safety Authority and are members of the Aviation Safety Foundation of Australia. This experience is conducted in a Cessna 152 or a Grumman Trainer.

One of the greatest experiences you can ever have! Flying instructors have heaps of experience and are really helpful and informative. Half an hour of flying out of which I got the controls for about 10 mins, about the right duration especially for a novice. Highly recommended!

The pilot that I was with was very attentive and went out of his way to explain the various instruments and procedures. I was able to take basically the majority of the controls and experience a couple of different maneuvours in the air which was not what I expected.

Very nice experience on a beautiful sunny day, Geoff the intructor was friendly and and made the whole experience enjoyable. Since I knew a few markers (family houses) on our fligth path, he was more than happy to accommodate the detour and fly over their places. I was slightly surprise by the small size and the age of the plane but obviously the plane was fit for flying... If anything, it probably added some charm and character to the experience :-) The guys do a nice job at making the customer...Very nice experience on a beautiful sunny day, Geoff the intructor was friendly and and made the whole experience enjoyable. My husband absolutely loved it! The instructor was very friendly and helpful. A wonderful way to celebrate his 40th! He did hear later that a friend was allowed to take off and he would have loved the opportunity to do that or a few turns. Just the chance to play around a little more. But in summary, an amazing experience and well worth doing!

Weather did not permit us to fly on the day, however, they were very happy to accommodate as we were from interstate and re-scheduled the next day. They were informative and friendly and well organised and it was a great experience. We have since spoken to a number of people and recommended their services. The whole experience was great. My name was on their system and they welcomed us directly. Explained a few things, saw a little video, and got in the aircraft right after. We were slightly early but they took care of us as soon as we arrived. They let us take pictures and staff was very friendly. Amazing experience!

My introductory to flight was absolutely fantastic. The instructor was very professional, answered all my questions and allowed me to do the majority of the flying correcting me only when necessary. Everyone should do this at least once.

It was the most amazing experience I have ever had. I have done bungy jumps, hot air ballooning, para sailing but this beats them all. To be able to take off and land the plane on my own is something I will never forget. The pilot was also so nice and helpful which made the flight so much more comfortable. I highly recommend this to anyone, you will not be disappointed.

I have sat beside Marcus Ambrose for three laps at Calder in his Pirtek V8 Supercar, been in the Hitachi/StuntzInc Drift Utes at Sandown and the Island. Been up in Bi-planes and helicopters all as a passenger. But to actually take the controls of Cessna and fly is just the most awesome buzz, it's now almost 24hours since I went up and I still have a smile like a Cheshire Cat. Many thanks to my beautiful wife and kids for shouting ...This would rate as one of the greatest experiences of my 49years.
