Take control during this introductory training flight and experience flying from the pilot's seat! This Melbourne aircraft trial flight is your opportunity to live the dream. Take to the skies with an expert instructor, who'll assist in making your very first flying lesson an event to remember!

Your light aircraft introductory flight commences with a classroom briefing on the functions of the aircrafts controls plus all you need to know to enable you to control the aircraft on your first lesson. After briefing, the instructor will take you through the pre-flight inspection on your training aircraft before you take your place in the pilot's seat.

Your instructor will talk you through the start up, taxiing and take-off, then you take to the sky for your first real flying experience! The flight is to the south of Moorabbin airport and lasts approximately 30 minutes. During this time you will have

hands-on experience in flying the aeroplane. You will fly up to an exhilarating 2000-3000ft on your trial instructional flight!

Following the flight there will be an opportunity for you to discuss any questions you have on flight training with your instructor.

Please note: Due to the popularity of this experience, weekend spots book out well in advance. There are weekday spots readily available, but if you have a weekend date in mind please prepare yourself 2-3 months in advance.

This experience voucher is valid for 12 months from date of purchase.

Venue:

Moorabbin Airport, Victoria - approximately 22km southeast of the Melbourne CBD.

Session Length

Please allow 90 minutes, this includes briefing and approximately 30 minutes in the air. Bookings can be made 7 days per week during daylight hours. Please allow for a waiting period of 10 weeks for weekend bookings and 2 weeks for weekdays due to the popularity of this experience.

Guidelines:

You must be of 15 years of age. Weight restrictions and surcharges DO apply if you weight 100kg or more - please contact us if you have any concerns as alternative arrangements can be made.

Numbers:

The price quoted is for one person. You will be one-on-one with your instructor during your trial flight.

Spectators:

Due to Civil Aviaiton Safety Authority rules the flight must only have the participant and instructor on board. However there is a waiting area with tea and coffee making facilities and amenities for people who may wish to accompany you.

Weather:

Flying may be cancelled in weather conditions that would make the flight uncomfortable for a novice. Please call the flying school if in any doubt. Any cancelled flights will be rescheduled for a later date.

Our operators and their instructors are approved by the Civil Aviation Safety Authority and are members of the Aviation Safety Foundation of Australia. This experience is conducted in a 2 seat training aircraft.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Thoroughly enjoyed this experience. Overall this was an enjoyable experience. The instructor was obviously experienced and knew the aircraft well. Considering this was an introductory flying lesson and not merely a joy flight, some commentary by the instructor when he has full control as to what he was actually doing with all the controls and why. For example, during the somewhat complicated task of landing. I believe this would have been of benefit to a first time student. The instructor provided some feedback as to how I went, which I found encouraging, and also explained the procedure to obtain a pilot licence. I am considering taking further lessons with with this company. Thank you for the experience. 21 April 2013

Rated 5 out of 5 by Fantastic experience, better than imagined The whole experience was great. The staff were very friendly right from the beginning and the flight experience was a lot of fun. There is always that concern with something like this that your time at the controls will be severely limited, but that was not the case. From about 10 seconds after take off, I was handed the controls and remained in control for the next 30minutes until right before landing. It was a very enjoyable experience and can say that flying is highly addictive! 19 March 2013
