Step back in time and travel in a historic DC3 to King Island, a remote and beautiful island, located of the North Western tip of Tasmania.

The air is fresh, the people are friendly, the produce is absolutely sensational! King Island beef, cheese, yoghurt, crayfish are rightly world renowned.

Lunch is buffet style, with an emphasis on local King Island fare. (Please Note: Drinks are an additional cost to be paid on the day). Seating can be arranged as desired, with the group placements, couples or individuals.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Fantastic relaxing day The whole experience was excellent, the flight was a wonderful experience in itself, the staff were very friendly and food was outstanding, scenery was amazing and our bus driver was very entertaining and informative. Great day, highly recommend. 5 May 2013
Rated 3 out of 5 by Flight was great King island average The Gooney Bird staff and experience was fantastic even on a very warm humid day. The King Island experience was lacking... The restaurant and lunch were Ok but doing laps of the town at low speeds to drag things out seemed tedious . The King Island dairy and cheese factory was very disappointing, no tour of the factory, no explanation of the cheeses, no wine and cheese platters and the staff seemed bothered we were even there. We would have been happy to stay at the restaurant and watch the seals we were watching rather than being moved to walk around town with most stores closed and then disrupting the staff at the cheese factory left a lasting impression that we weren't really being encouraged to enjoy the Island. 27 February 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Romantic and nostalgic really loved the plane and staff on the flight - was absolutely gorgeous flying low over Melbourne and the heads. Food and wine was fabulous at King Island. Enjoyed the the stories on the bus trip around the Island, but it took so long - I was very restless (not used to sitting all day) and would have preferred to have spent some time frolliking in the rock pools, walking or even having a fish. We only had 20 minutes to walk around all day! 24 January 2013

Rated 5 out of 5 by A wonderful day from start to finish, very memorable From the time of booking with Julie, the staff were very helpful and obliging. My wife booked the "jump seat" for take off and landing and it was a great experience. Everything went to plan, the bus was waiting for us on arrival at King Island, the bus driver very entertaining on our tour and lunch was delicious. Our children gave the gift to us for our 50th Wedding Anniversary and it was perfect. Thank you to all concerned. 2 December 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by What a nostalgic experience! the DC3 performed beautifully and lunch was superb. It was a wonderful piece of history to experience. The staff were all so friendly both on and off the ground with loads of local information at the ready. Our pilot had flown DC3's for 49 years, made you feel very safe. The luncheon showed us the best seafood Tassie had to offer with more than enough to go around. The King Island Cheese factory saw us bringing home some wonderful bargains, so don't forget your esky. 20 November 2012
