Imagine gliding on crystal clear water in a sea kayak through a landscape of pink granite mountains, sandy white beaches and blue waters so clear you feel you can touch the marine life below. Make this a reality on this Freycinet Paddle!

Your experience starts with a short safety briefing and demonstration of the paddling skills that you will quickly master before we head out on onto the water in stable, double kayaks. Then it's off to enjoy the unique perspective that sea kayaking offers!

Sea kayaks allow us to slowly explore this spectacular coastline of Coles Bay beneath the Hazards range. We pass quietly by wildlife and perhaps see a majestic eagle as it soars above. The guides love this beautiful part of the world and look forward to sharing its natural and cultural stories. Discover the history of secluded coves such as Honeymoon Bay, hear tales of French explorers and learn about the ancient culture of the Oyster Bay tribe.

The waters of the Freycinet Peninsula are crystal clear, giving us a glimpse into the stunning underwater world as we glide over reefs and sea grass beds. We pause midway at a pristine beach to enjoy a morning / afternoon tea of fresh brewed coffee and cake before continuing the journey around Coles Bay.

This experience voucher is valid for 12 months from date of purchase.

Freycinet National Park, Tasmania.

Session Length

Kayaking tours depart twice daily, morning or twilight. Please request your tour preference at time of booking, meeting time will be advised with confirmation. The safety briefing and skills session takes around 30 mins, allowing us around 2.5 hours on the water. Closed Christmas Day.

No experience is required, full instruction is given. Families welcome. All efforts are made to cater for people with physical and mental disabilities.

The price quoted is for one person. Our sea kayaking tour has a minimum of two and a maximum of 12. Tours are undertaken in stable double kayaks to cater for all levels of experience and ability. Single bookings are welcome, you will share a kayak with a guide or another participant.

As the tour paddles around the Coles Bay coastline, there are opportunities to watch the group and take photos from the shore. Good locations include Honeymoon Bay, Cole Bay jetty and the beach where the trips leave and return to.

As we operate in the outdoors adverse weather conditions, in particular wind and sea breeze, may affect this adventure. In the case of unsuitable weather, we alter the tour route to suit the conditions and may paddle in an alternative location in the local area.

Other Info:

The double kayaks are perfect for gaining confidence and have excellent stability and comfort. You might like to bring a camera to record your adventures (waterproof cameras are good or a dry bag is provided for personal items). Tours run daily, year round.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Great way to spend a morning. Things look different from the water. Great weather and great scenery. A very small group meant individualised service for us. The guide was friendly and knowedgable, and we had the good fortune to be able to watch a pair of sea eagles feeding on some fish. 6 May 2013

Rated 5 out of 5 by I loved the experience. The boats were incredibly stable and easy to paddle. The best part was paddling out to the island near the start in 30kmh winds through waves. It was the excitement and challenge I needed pushing through the waves and made the trip awesome. The staff member, Jarred was great and made the journey interesting and challenging. Thanks 22 February 2012
