Join us for a haunting look at Sydney’s dark side in the historic Rocks precinct. With plenty of macabre stories and ghostly apparitions, we’re sure to have you jumping out of your skin and sleeping with the lights on after you’ve been on this ghost tour!

On your ghost tour of historic Sydney, you can expect to hear stories of murder, suicide, hangings, hauntings! These ghostly tales will be told whilst you are taken on a lantern-lit, two hour walking tour around The Rocks area - the birthplace of Australia. Walk along cobblestone lanes and alleyways into the hidden part of The Rocks and discover how a haunted past has created the spirits that still linger here today!

Your ghost host will enthral you with the horrific story of the mutilated body and the gruesome tales of The Rocks ‘Dead House’. Hear the tales of the ghosts who haunt the Opera House and the ghost of ‘George’ who stakes his place on the Sydney Harbour Bridge.

Enjoy the scenery whilst you search for the ghost of the cabin boy and discover why Mrs Greenfield was chased by her knife wielding husband. You’ll also visit a haunted house site built in 1822 where the apparition of Amelia still lingers.

Don’t forget your camera - you might even catch a ghostly apparition on film!

I thought the Ghost Tour of The Rocks was very entertaining. Unfortunately we didn't see any ghosts, but our Ghost Host Lachlan was wonderful. The stories he told were excellent and he was a great tour guide.

It was a wonderful experience. The guide (Ghost Host Mark) was knowledgable and engaging. The organisation was well run. The walk itself was fascinating and inroduced us to parts of the Rocks that we never really knew were there. It was an invorating walk without being too much exertion. Lots of fun.

Tour Guide (Gary) was very knowledgeable. Had a great night but at the end of tour was left to find your own way back to the starting point. Not good for people who reside outside the City area.

The tour was very informative as to what really went on in the early days of Sydney...the host was excellent and made sure we were all entertained. I also liked the way that he got us involved in the whole thing as well...that was great

Jason was excellent; full of drama which made the night's atmosphere. Did the Melbourne Jail experience and thought the clanging of the chains and doors slamming added to the overall "theatre" of the visit. I would add a few of those types of innocent noises to boost the night's drama. Getting into all those off limits to the public areas was fascinating

My wife and i both really enjoyed the Rocks Ghost Tour we went on last Sunday night. Our tour guide Gary did a great job building the atmosphere for the stories (even though this would be a tough job with all the distractions around the Rocks!) We would both recommend the tour to any of our friends and will definitely be going on the South Rocks Ghost Tour soon.

The whole process of me receiving a gift voucher for my birthday and then exchanging buying an experience for 8 of us was very easy. I will certainly use RedBalloon again. As for the Ghost Tour - we didn't see any ghosts, however had a really fun night and Mark looked after us and made the tour very enjoyable despite the rain that decided to fall just for the length of our tour!

The guide (Ivan) was great. His information probably could have been a bit more extensive historically, but given the broad range of people attending, was good enough to keep everyone interested. Loved the fact that there was opportunity for participation by those attending and the small costume accessories were quite funny. We enjoyed the night, even though there was some drizzly rain for an hour or so.

Ghost Guide Lachlan was absolutely great as a guide - very informative, very theatrical and overall great evening had by us - especially for my dad who's birthday it was and who is not one for audience participation, was great to see him get into character as Mr Greenfield and he can't stop talking about the sites we visited. Thank you for a wonderfully interesting tour!
