Tiger Moth Scenic Flight - 30 Minutes

Fly back to the 1940s in a vintage open cockpit bi-plane and let the wind blow through your hair as you sit back, and enjoy the flight on board a Tiger Moth. This will be a nostalgic return to an era of romance and excitement where you’ll even get to wear the leather flying helmet and goggles!

Upon arrival at the hangar, you will meet your pilot and ground staff for the day and be shown around the vintage, open-cockpit Tiger Moth aircraft prior to your scenic flight (with plenty of time for photos) where safety aspects will be explained.

Then you will be helped to strap yourself into your seat. You will be sitting at the front of the aircraft and your pilot will be sitting behind you. When all is ready and the propeller has been swung to start the engine you will be up and away on your Tiger Moth Scenic Flight.

You have communication with your pilot for the duration of the flight and he will make the journey as enjoyable as possible for you pointing out areas of interest as you sit back and watch the world fly past.

On return to the Hangar you will be assisted from the aircraft by the ground crew and there will be an opportunity for some further photos.

This experience voucher is valid for 12 months from date of purchase.

Venue:

Camden, NSW.

Session Length

Allow approximately 1 hour for the full experience which includes 15 minutes preparation time – 30 minutes flight time and then 10 – 15 minutes at the end of flight for photos etc.

Guidelines:

There is a minimum age of 15 years and a maximum weight 115kg. A camera is ok but please have a strap to attach it to your wrist. We ask customers to sign a flight form that gives us their name address and phone number. Each passenger is fully insured for the duration of the flight.

Numbers:

You will be one-on-one with your pilot.

Spectators:

All spectators are very welcome and will be escorted to an area on the tarmac where they can watch you take-off and land.

Weather:

Clear, calm conditions are needed. We cancel in strong wind and adverse conditions. If in doubt please ring before leaving home. If cancelled we will re-schedule at a time to suit the customer. Minimum of 24 hours is required to reschedule otherwise a 25% cancellation fee may be charged.

Other Info:

Flights take place between 7am and 5pm, available 7 days a week, subject to weather conditions. This experience is not available Christmas Day, Boxing Day or New Years Day. The best time of the day is very early morning – due to calm air.

One that many who love old aircraft such as myself should try and undertake at least once in your life time. If anyone has a "Bucket List" then this should surely be on it. Rated 5 out of 5 by Wow. Just wow. I was confident that I was going to enjoy the flight, but was unprepared for just how great it was. During the flight I noticed some clouds forming at our attitude. I pointed them out to the pilot, who proceeded to fly around them and set up a brilliant photo. Love it. Highly recommend it to anyone interested in flight! 17 April 2013

Rated 5 out of 5 by Highly recommend the Tiger Moth flight I had great fun. Flew in a 1940s Tiger Moth from Camden up to Warragamba Dam and back. Most interesting was following the river back towards Camden at 500 feet where you get a good look at fields and trees and so on. No fuss adventure, simple briefing, competent pilot. Had a warm and clear day but it can get cold up there so wear a good warm jacket. 1 April 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great experience, real flying in an open cockpit vintage aircraft If you have only flown in an enclosed cockpit, this is a must do. Loop, spin, hammerhead if you are game, or simply enjoy the scenery over Waragamba Dam with the wind in your hair. Pilot and ground staff very friendly and made for a great experience. 15 February 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by It was an amazing experience I can only recommend this experience. Very well organized, staff was friendly and had me strapped into the plane and up up and away in no time. It turned out to be 2 planes, which made the photos turn out to be even better. Jamie, the pilot explained a lot about the scenery and the plane while flying it. Over all a very good experience. 13 February 2013
