Jump into the open cockpit of a vintage tiger moth and fly off into a bygone era complete with authentic flying jacket, goggles, helmet and scarf. Enjoy uninterrupted views of Bribie Island before flying over the majestic Glass House Mountains in stunning South-East Queensland!
On the day of your flight, you'll be met at the airfield by your highly experienced tiger moth pilot. To begin your experience, you will receive a pre-flight briefing in which you will learn about the aeroplane and its history. Next is a safety briefing where you will learn how to get in and out of the aircraft, what to do whilst flying and how to communicate using the historical hand signals and finally a route briefing to explain where you will be flying on the day and what to look out for.
You will then be outfitted in the authentic flying gear of a Tiger Moth passenger including flying jacket, goggles, helmet and scarf – now is a great opportunity for photos to be taken with the plane on the ground.
After waving goodbye to any family or friends, we will then buckle up and prepare for take-off. Climbing to an altitude of 2000ft and soaring as low as 500ft you will now get the opportunity to fly in an open cockpit. Scenic highlights include the spectacular Bribie Island and its national park surrounds before flying over the majestic Glass House Mountains. You are free to take as many photos as you like whilst enjoying this amazing experience.
This scenic flight is for pure enjoyment and relaxation, you will not be subjected to death defying acrobatics or stomach churning diving – however you may request some gentle wingovers.
This experience voucher is valid for 12 months from date of purchase.
Venue:
Caboolture - 30 minutes north of Brisbane, Queensland.
Session Length
We operate 7 days a week, all year round. Please allow approximately 90 minutes for the entire experience including briefing and 15 minutes after the flight for the chance to take photos. Actual flight time is 30 minutes. Please arrive at least 15 minutes prior to your allocated booking time.
Guidelines:
You must be aged 12 or over and less than 100kg in weight. It is a basic requirement of CASA that you are able to get in and out of the plane unassisted in order to fly.
Numbers:
The price quoted is for one person. You will be with your pilot on the day.
Spectators:
Family and friends can watch the departure and arrival from the observation area at the airfield.
Weather:
Weather restrictions apply. We will not fly in the event of rain, low cloud or strong winds. It is advised that you call the day before to check conditions. We will call you on the day if flying is not possible to reschedule your booking for a later date.

All of our pilots are ex-airforce, or former airline and current flying instructors and Tiger Moth enthusiasts.

October 11 2010I arrived at Camden airport at around 07.30 on a cold, wet, Monday morning to experience the flight of the 'Tiger Moth'. We were greeted by two beautiful aircraft sitting outside hanger 53 - one yellow and one red. Obviously I chose the yellow 'Tiger Moth' because everyone knows that yellow is always faster than red. My pilot introduced us both and we hit it off from the start (Yellow and I).

Hi, I had to reschedule for today from last Sunday in which Aero Dynamic were more than obliging. I had a fantastic time , It was amazing flying, a machine like that with an open cockpit. Flying out over Bribie was beautiful and then to hold the joystick and fly the plane myself was a great feeling. I would like my friends and family to share the same experience.

It was really good as a low hours student pilot I was able to fly the Tiger Moth for a good part of the 30 minutes. The intercom was very basic and most of the time I was unable to hear Ken in the back but this only added to the experience as it felt like we where back in 1941 when the plane was built communicating by a tap on the shoulder much pointing, waving, thumbs up or a rattle on the control stick. We gave the tigermoth flight to our girlfriend for her birthday and she absolutely loved it. Red Balloon sent her a beautifully presented gift voucher with a photo of the tigermoth and all the details of the flight which was fantastic. On completion of the flight her pilot Nick who by the way was an absolute delight gave her a certificate. Will definitely use RedBalloon website again.

All was good other than intercom, however with such old noisy planes it can't be easy hearing at the best of times.

I had the best time, could not stop smiling, had beautiful weather beautiful view and Nev was a great pilot. Was a little worried about the landing but found it smooth and nothing to worry about. Hope to do the 1 hour flight in the future

It was an unique experience which I would recommend to my friends. I never thought I would fly in a Tiger Moth. It was a surprise birthday gift for my 70th birthday - the same age as the plane -from my children. It was a beautiful morning and I took lots of photos of the area around Beachmere and Bribie Island. Surprised at all the water and how good it all looked from the air. Ken did an excellent job piloting the plane - thanks very much for the memorable experience.

I'm almost 70 (only 1 year younger than the Tiger Moth I flew in!) and found it a great experience. It's something really different for both young and old. The open cockpit makes all the difference. The only minor issue would be better signage at the car park to point out the correct office to go to. David
