What are the secrets to being an amazing barista? The difference between good coffee and bad coffee is knowing all the variables! This experience is perfect - fun for people who just want to make a great coffee, and it's formally recognised!
* Where coffee comes from, and how it was discovered by the Arabs and refined by the Italians

* How coffee is blended and roasted because 'in the end, it's all in the blend'
* How to pour the perfect espresso shot

This is a very practical, hands-on course, so you'll have lots of time to practice your new skills! This course is perfect for:

Guidelines:

This barista course is perfect for anyone with a love of coffee! This course is an intensive Barista experience - definitely not a “froth and giggle” day. Whilst suitable for coffee-lovers and fun, be prepared use some serious commercial machinery in your quest for espresso excellence.

Numbers:

Numbers are dependent on the location of your course. In Sydney we can accommodate up to 17 people in a class, in Brisbane and Melbourne we can accommodate ten per class. There are 1-3 instructors per class in Sydney and 1-2 instructors in Brisbane and Melbourne, depending on class size.

Other Info:

Upon completion of this course you will receive an industry-recognised Barista certificate, a written coffee menu and access to a pdf document that will contain a movie: How to Make Every Coffee on a Coffee Menu as well as an ebook - "How To Get A Fun Job As A Barista".

Rated 5 out of 5 by Enlightening, entertaining and educational! This course is wonderful for people intending on becoming baristas. I however have a love of coffee and did this with my mum, we had a great time (the trainers are hilarious and outright comedians) which helped take the edge off the intensity of this course. You can drink every cuppa you brew and it is very hands on with the right amount of theory. You learn a lot in 3 hours. I highly recommend this to anybody with a passion for coffee!! 4 May 2013

Rated 5 out of 5 by A good 3 hour investment to expand your knowledge and get a true appreciation about coffee What I like from the class are lesson materials and concepts were easy to understand. Theory and practice sessions were well organized and blended. The instructors had great sense of humour so the attendees still had fun while obtaining quite packed volume of knowledge and felt no pressure when having to complete a test at the end of the class. The overall experience took my understanding about barista job to a new level. A good barista must be a master of juggling who has to work under pressure timeline, understand well about coffee, has high concentration ability but is still relaxing enough to bring a quality coffee cup with smile to their customers. 22 April 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by A bit too serious My aim was to have some fun learning how to make coffees just as a 'mum'. This was a serious course intended for people wanting to work in the industry. My daughter and I still had a great time, just a shame their coffee wasn't to my taste. Very well staffed and they were very calm when I sent milk flying in all directions - turned the steam knob the wrong way despite their obvious signs! Oops! 17 April 2013
