Expiry Dates
RedBalloon gift vouchers must be used within 6 months or 12 months of purchase, depending on the voucher type:
- Experience vouchers - must be activated (date booked and experience taken) within 6 months of purchase.
- Range vouchers - must be activated (date booked and experience taken) within 12 months of purchase.
- Gift Certificates/Cards - must be used within 12 months of purchase.
Note: The expiry date of the original voucher is always maintained, even when exchanged for RedBalloon Account credit.

Extension of Vouchers
Conditions for Extension
Extensions are only permitted under the following conditions:
- Your gift voucher is an Experience Voucher
- The Experience Voucher has not yet been activated, i.e. an experience has not yet been booked
- The Experience Voucher is either still valid or it expired less than 30 days ago
- The Experience Voucher is for an experience that is still listed on the RedBalloon website
Note: Extensions are not permitted for Range Vouchers and Gift Certificates/Cards under any circumstances.
Cost of Extending Experience
- BEFORE the expiry date you may extend your Experience Voucher for an administration fee of $10 per voucher per month (maximum 3 months).
- If your voucher has expired LESS THAN 30 DAYS ago, you may extend your Experience Voucher for one month only at an administration fee of $30 per voucher.
- Note: you may be required to pay the difference in cost if the experience has increased in price since your initial purchase.
How Do I Extend My Experience Voucher?
- If you have a RedBalloon account, it's easy to extend your Experience Voucher online. Simply select the Extend Your Voucher option in 'Your Account' and follow the prompts.
- Should you not wish to use a credit card, or the online Experience Voucher extension process is unclear for you, please phone our team on 1300 87 55 00.
