This rafting trip offers an unrivaled white water rafting experience, whether you're a novice or highly experienced. The Mitta has carved its path into the valley floor over millions of years. Set in the Alpine National Park and surrounded by an ancient eucalypt forest, the river has been home to known indigenous tribes and the prospectors of the late 19th century. This is by far our most popular river trip with clients returning year after year to test their skills against Mother Natures moods. With over 60 rapids graded from 2 to 4 were confident you will agree with over 20,000 satisfied thrill-seekers, who know why rafting the Mitta Mitta is Australias best choice!A full days rafting plummeting between intricate rock formations for 18km will ensure your adrenalin hits overdrive. Your day on the river starts in the morning meeting at our river base in Omeo. You will be introduced to your guides and kitted out in the latest comfortable high tech river gear. Your guides for the day will then conduct a safety brief ensuring you understand exactly what will be required of you during your river journey. Following this briefing you will be given lessons on how to paddle and maneuver in the raft ready to tackle the 60+ technical rapids on your adventure. A delicious lunch and snacks are included on your journey which you are able to enjoy beside and serene riverside billabong. (this is usually a vegetarian menu if you have any other dietary requirements please talk to us well before your trip to best cater for you needs) These passionate professionals have 30+ years experience on the Mitta and can help you very quickly settle into your environment.
This experience takes place every weekend and on weekdays by request. Your journey will start at approximately 8.30am and go until approximately 4pm. Season is for 10-11mnts of the year generally starting in July and finishing in April.
All participants must weigh over 30kg to be fitted correctly into a high float buoyancy vest and in a reasonably fit condition. For clients booking with children they must be accompanied by an adult and be eight years of age or older with the ability to take instruction.
The price quoted is for one person. There will be a minimum of 6 and a maximum of 40 people in the group.
This experience may be affected by the weather. In the case of poor weather conditions or unsuitable water levels, your experience may be altered or rescheduled for a later date.
All river equipment will be provided. This includes wetsuits, jumpers, splash jackets, buoyancy jackets, wet boots and helmets.
You will be required to sign a waiver on the day, prior to participating in this experience. You need to bring $25 cash for transfers and National Park fees. Bring water for drinking, eat a hearty breakfast and dont overindulge in alcohol the night before your experience!
