This one-day course provides essential training in the practical skills and theory knowledge required by the small boat driver. A NSW Boat License can then be obtained by taking the AS certificate you receive together with photo ID and the license fee to NSW Maritime.
Practical skills on the water include high and low speed handling, berthing, man overboard recovery, close quarters handling, anchoring, securing to a mooring buoy, handling waves, safety equipment and emergency procedures.
Powerboat theory knowledge includes types of craft and engines, engine checks and collision regulations.
Maximum of four people in each powerboat plus the instructor.
This experience operates in rain or shine. You will be advised if it is to rough to head out onto the water.
Hat, sunglasses, sunscreen, rash vest, board shorts, wind proof jacket, non slip boat/wet shoes, towel and a change of clothes. Male and Female changing facilities are available on site.
BYO lunch or money to visit the beach bar, cafe or restaurant.
