Discover one of Australia’s most iconic landmarks, the stunning red rock Uluru, on this 3 day camping tour. Your first day begins with your pick up from Uluru/Ayers Rock Airport, before heading to Uluru for your first sighting of this stunning rock. Uluru is 348m above the red sandy desert ground, more than 2 times higher than Sydney Harbour Bridge, with a circumference of 9.4km. You will have time to do the Base Walk around Uluru, and see some beautiful sites including the Mala Walk, Mutijulu Waterhole and Aboriginal cave paintings. As your first day comes to a close, enjoy the stunning changing colours of sunset over this great rock.
The following morning begins early, to witness the spectacle of a sunrise over Uluru. Watch in complete serenity as the sky begins to lighten, and the rock changes colour and lightens in the morning sunshine. After breakfast you will visit Kata Tjuta, the famous rock formations also known by some as The Olgas, for a hike through the red sandstone domes. These 36 domed heads are an incredible cultural experience, and your tour guide will provide information on the geology, flora and fauna that survive in this hot, arid landscape. Get a taste of true bush tucker while you’re out, and finish your tour at the Aboriginal Cultural Centre to learn about the Dreamtime.
Spend the night in Kings Canyon, and wake up ready to explore the scenery of Kings Canyon on a 3 hour hike, through the sandstone canyons, take in the lush greenery of palm forests, pass through the Lost City and visit the beautiful Garden of Eden, before jumping on board for bus journey to your final destination, Alice Springs.
