Experience the perfect mixture of Perth's natural wonder and rich history on this full day tour. Immerse yourself in the history of Perth's Wheatbelt? region, as you hunt for hidden antique treasures, stroll through country townships and marvel at the engineering feat of Mundaring Weir.
Your first stop is in the heart of the Perth Hills, Mundaring. Explore the amazing engineering feat that is Mundaring Weir, then relax for a morning coffee at the Dome Cafe on the way to Wave Rock. As you are led through a carpet of wildflowers, under a bright blue sky, with the wind of the Sheoak trees surrounding you, you will cross upon the magnificent, prehistoric rock formation of Wave Rock. Marvel at the size and shape, formed by the erosion from weather over millions and millions of patient years. Climb to the top and bask in the stunning view of the surrounding farm land, shiny salmon gum-forests, and the beautiful salty scrubby bush. This is Australia at its pure finest. Travel through one of the most picturesque landscapes in Western Australia to the historic town of York. As you walk through the streets you'll find magnificently restored heritage buildings from the Victorian and Federation era. Hunt for hidden treasures in the many quaint old fashioned shops and head for a stroll over the Swing Bridge at Avon Park. Get lost in the beauty of the wheatbelt as your bus passes through the farming towns of Corrigin and Kondinin. Once you arrive in the town of Hyden, enjoy lunch at one of the local cafes and visit the Miniature Soldier Museum with it's collection of over 10,000 handmade pieces. You will also see a section of the infamous Rabbit Proof Fence, the longest fence in the world. Lastly, visit The Dog Cemetery near Corrigin where dog lovers will be touched by the emotional tribute to man's best friend.
