Visit Healesville Sanctuary to see some of Australia's cutest native wildlife, before taking a ride on the historic Puffing Billy steam train through the lush green rainforests of the region. Finish your experience with a visit to Phillip Island, where you can watch the famous Penguin Parade.
Spend a day exploring the Dandenong Ranges region of Victoria, on this full day tour to Healesville Wildlife Sanctuary and a ride on the Puffing Billy steam train.
The tour departs from Flinders Street in Melbourne, taking you to your first stop on the tour - the Healesville Wildlife Sanctuary, where you can visit some of Australia's best loved native wildlife, from the platypus, koalas, kangaroos, wombats to dingoes. Take in the spectacular ‘Spirit of the Sky’ bird of prey show, or visit the Wildlife Hospital where you can hear the stories of patients as they go on their journey from rescue, treatment and recovery, to release to the wild.
Next up, visit the town of Belgrave, and climb on board Australia’s favourite historical steam train, Puffing Billy, the oldest steam train in Australia. Take a seat in one of the train carriages, as you take in views of the Dandenong mountain ranges, travelling through lush fern gullies, past Mountain Ash Eucalyptus forests of Sherbrooke Forest, and across the famous wooden trestle bridge.
Continue on to Phillip Island, for the famous nightly Penguin Parade. Visit The Nobbies, where you can take in the breathtaking coastal scenery before experiencing the magic of the penguins returning to one of the largest penguin colonies in Australia, at sunset.
Your tour will return to Melbourne CBD at the end of the day.
