Challenge yourself with a one day wilderness workshop in the Blue Mountains, learning essential GPS skills that can be used to navigate in off-track areas. Your highly experienced guides will teach you skills such as projecting a waypoint and walking route, and terrain association and recognition.
Enjoy a fun and challenging full day workshop in the wilderness of the Blue Mountains, learning how to use and master a GPS. Run by from some of Australia's leading wilderness navigation professionals, the program runs off a four persons to one instructor ratio to ensure you receive the very best training. After a thorough introduction and training, you'll later be challenged with field exercises including projecting a waypoint from a topographic map and a walking route to it using your GPS, and terrain association and recognition using a topographic map and GPS. A wholesome lunch with refreshments is provided as you take a break and soak up the serene bushland. The perfect gift for the outdoor enthusiast in your life!
This experience runs for one full day starting from 9am to approximately 4:30pm.

Group size will be one instructor for every four participants. Please note, this can sometimes vary depending on participant numbers. Minimum required number of participants is two.
This experience usually goes ahead rail, hail or shine!
Please dress for a day outside in the mountains. Bring adequate sun protection, rain protection and warm layers. The weather in the Blue Mountains is dynamic and can change quickly so be prepared! Please keep cotton clothing to a minimum - if it gets wet it will make you extremely cold. Ideal clothing is quick drying synthetics or wool. If the weather is cold then thermal under layers are highly recommended!
It's recommended to bring your own preferred GPS unit, however you can loan one on the day. Alternatively, you can purchase a GPS unit from their Adventure Store with a generous discount.
