Enjoy the lap of luxury with this private guided helicopter tour of three of Tasmania's top whiskey distilleries. You will taste world recognised whiskies, as well as having a distillery tour. At one of the distilleries, you will enjoy a light meal, before enjoying the scenic helicopter flight home.
You will be transferred from your accommodation to a privately owned airport. Here, you will board the helicopter, and fly towards Hobart City to take in the sights of Mt Wellington, Tasman Bridge and Hobart City. You will then follow the River Derwent upstream before landing at the first distillery, Redland Estate. A tour of the distillery offers a complete 'paddock to bottle' experience. Starting off in a field of barley (seasonal) and ending at barrels in the bond room, the tour offers a unique insight into the crafting of single malt whiskey.
Then, walk across the paddock back to the helicopter for a 15 minute flight inland to Nant Distillery, landing next to the stream. This stream meanders through Nant Estate and flows into the millpond, which powers the wheel that turns the stones that grist the malted barley. In 2012, Nant Single Malt Whiskey was catapulted to global renown when Jim Murray, the world’s foremost whisky commentator, scored Nant Single Malt Whiskey – American Oak Bourbon Wood 95.5 out of 100. This rarest of scores saw Nant rated among the top 50 whiskies in the world. Indulge in the full Nant Whiskey experience, with a tasting plate paired with the single malt whiskey. Then, you will fly 30 minutes south to Coal Valley to Lark Distillery. Lark whiskey is proudly unique in character and style, crafted in small batches, exclusively from pure Tasmanian ingredients. All Lark whiskey is matured in small barrels, hand-bottled by whiskey lovers in Tasmania for whiskey lovers worldwide. After tasting, it is time to relax before returning.
