    The 10 week term of 1 hour per week will teach you the basic movements of belly dancing after warming up and stretching. Dance movements will be consolidated each week, adding new steps which we put together into a short dance.

    You will learn to dance using various styles, including, Classical Egyptian, Modern Egyptian, Tribal and various regional styles. These styles often incorporate veils, zills (finger cymbals), sticks or swords.

    The dancing classes are relaxed and friendly and students are encouraged to progress at their own pace.

    Missed classes can be made up at other timeslots of the same level during the term.

    The studio is fully air conditioned, with shower facilities and refreshments are available before and after class.
    On the Day

    Session Length

    We have 4 terms per year, and students can begin their lessons either at the start of a term or up to 3 weeks into the current term and make up their missed classes at other time slots.

    The 10 week course is for 1 hour per week.

    Numbers on the Day

    The classes will have between 10 – 25 students per class.

    Weather

    Indoor activity.

    Dress Code

    Stretchy clothing, bare feet or 'Jiffies' or any other flexible soled shoe. It is not necessary to have a bare midriff. A semi-fitted t-shirt and stretch pants is the most suitable. Bring a scarf that will tie around your hips to accentuate the movements, we have spares if you don't have one.

    If you have an existing medical condition or an injury that restricts your movement you should consult your doctor before enrolling. Women in early pregnancy should also consult their doctor before embarking on any dance classes.

    There are no age restrictions on learning to belly dance.
