This mountain biking course in the Adelaide Hills is specifically designed for the weekend rider who is looking to improve their general skills. It focuses on improving your current abilities, teaches you better ways to approach your bike riding, and learning the basics correctly.
Class sizes are small so that you get personalised attention and tuition. Activities are developed and suited for your level of experience. Our staff are fully trained, accredited, professional and friendly and will ensure you enjoy the experience of learning how to ride a mountain bike properly.
Day One: Your first training session begins with your instructor briefly covering bike set-up and your body position and stance on your bike, so you are totally comfortable on your bike before getting too technical! Your instructor then will 'de-construct' what you thought you knew and cover techniques such as track stands, manuals and wheel lifts, and you will also go riding to attempt these skills on the trail. You may be surprised what bad habits you had picked up, or how much your riding improves by going back to basics! Day Two: Your second training session is where you'll 're-construct' your riding. Your instructor will start off by building on the skills learnt in your first training session and how you can use those skills and techniques to tackle much harder and more difficult obstacles and skills. You'll be amazed how you can use what you already know to ride things you thought impossible! Your instructor will cover such skills as drop-offs, bunny hops, technical climbs and high speed cornering techniques. You will then go out on the trails and all get a chance to put what you've have learned into practice! Please Note: These days DO NOT run concurrently to allow you to practice your skills after the first day of your course and attempt your second day only when you are comfortable and ready.
Your experience runs for approximately 6 hours each day from 10.00am to approximately 4.00pm.
