Experience a private surfing lesson with Australia’s original surf camp for beginners. This two hour private surfing lesson with one of our qualified surfing instructors will ensure you get the best guidance and advice targeted directly to your individual surfing needs and skill level!

This private surfing lesson is ideal for absolute beginners, or anyone who is finding it difficult to progress the next level!

Located at the picturesque Seven Mile Beach, only 2 hours south of Sydney, it’s the ideal location for beginner surfers with its tame waves and scenic surroundings.

You’ll meet our qualified surf instructor 15 minutes prior to the arranged lesson time to be fitted with a wetsuit and surfboard. During the surfing lesson, you’ll receive advice on tides and conditions, and how to identify the safest part of the beach to surf.

Absolute beginners, will be taught from the basics of paddling technique followed by how to stand up on your board and take you into the water to experience catching your first wave! Most people stand up within the first lesson!

For those a little more advanced, your instructor will tailor the lesson according to your own particular level.

The private surfing lesson is 2 hours in duration and is perfect to learn the basics of surfing. One of the biggest advantages of the private lesson is that you have the full attention of your surf instructor. All the advice and instructions passed on to you will be directly targeted to improving your own individual surfing skills. Your instructor will also be more than happy to provide you with advice on the right type of board and equipment for you.

Surfing is a lifelong pursuit and by starting off with the right advice and guidance from our surfing instructors, you’ll easily become addicted!

Venue:

Gerroa, on the NSW South Coast - just 2 hours south of Sydney.

Session Length

We operate surfing lessons twice per day, Saturday to Thursday from September to May. The private lesson is two hours in duration and includes wetsuit and surfboard hire.

Guidelines:

Suitable for all ages, however, children under 12 years must have a parent / guardian present for the lesson. Although the location is ideal for beginner surfers, it’s recommended those participating are capable of swimming at least 50 metres. No previous surfing experience is necessary!

Numbers:

This is a private lesson for one person. You will be with your instructor on the day.

Spectators:

Friends and family are welcome to watch the lesson from the beach. Children under 12 years must have a parent / guardian present during the lesson.

Weather:

This experience operates in most weather conditions, including rain. Our guides will ensure that you only surf in the safest conditions.

Other Info:

You’ll be required to sign an indemnity form prior to the lesson. All surf instructors hold a current Level 1 Surf Coaching, Open Water Bronze Medallion or APPOLA Advanced Resuscitation Certificate and Senior 1st Aid Certificates.

    I had a great time with my instructor Shane. I had never surfed before so his basic instructions were perfect and easy to take in. The weather was ordinary but this life changing experience for me was awesome. I will be on the look out for a surf board to continue the great feeling I experienced yesterday. Cheers Mark

    I had the best time. There was 2 of us who went on the private lesson which allowed us to get individual tips on areas where we were going wrong. My whole aim was to get up on the board at least once and I managed to get up 5 times! I would definitely recommend this experience to everyone!

    Initially I waited an hour after arriving for my experience which was due to short staffing however once we got in to it I really enjoyed myself and the staff were very friendly and helpful.
