Never been scuba diving before? Here is your chance to get up close and personal with huge grey nurse sharks, giant stingrays, sea turtles, wobbegong sharks, moray eels and much more. Under a safe and controlled environment with professional dive instructors - this is the opportunity of a lifetime!

Your shark diving session will begin with a total briefing and introduction to scuba diving followed by a safety video. Under the expert supervision of professional dive instructors, you will then be suited up with a wetsuit, mask and all diving equipment and enter the specially designed dive pool to gain confidence and skills for your dive. You will soon discover the thrill of breathing under water for the first time and your heavy equipment becoming weightless. Then it’s on to the real thing. You will enjoy a 30 min tank dive in the oceanarium allowing you to get up close to 4 different species of shark - 7 adult grey nurse sharks (one is the largest in captivity in Australia), 4 different species of rays, 2 species of turtles and a vast array of marine life. The group size is small and personal and you will be assisted at all times by your instructor. Allow extra time to enjoy any of the complimentary guided tours and shows around the aquarium.

If you have any of the following conditions: Asthma, Heart Disease, Epilepsy, Diabetes, Chronic chest condition, Chronic sinus condition, Ear problems, High blood pressure, you are pregnant or you have any other medical conditions, including injuries or psychological issues that may prevent you from participating in the dive. You require written confirmation from a doctor stating your condition is not prohibitive to diving before booking the dive.

Please note:If you have been certified but have less than 15 dives logged, you will need to be included in this introductory program. For certified divers you will need to present your log book or license on the day to be allowed to do a Certified Dive.

This experience voucher is valid for 12 months from date of purchase.

Session Length

Approx 2 hours. The dive is available 7 days a week excluding Christmas Day.

Guidelines:

Minimum age 14. You must be able to swim. STRICT MEDICAL RESTRICTIONS APPLY: If you suffer from OR have ever suffered form Asthma, Epilepsy, Diabetes, any Heart, Sinus or Lung conditions, any recent injuries or surgeries you will need a SIGNED MEDICAL CLEARANCE FORM from a doctor.

Numbers:

There will be up to 4 divers in the group plus professional dive instructors. Changes to the Dive session time, date or diver identity can be made 72 hours prior to the dive at our discretion. An admin fee of $15 for each change will apply. Changes within 72 hours of the Dive are not permitted.

Spectators:

Spectators are very welcome to come along to watch your dive and will get a great view of you and all your new marine friends from the viewing tunnel. Spectators receive a 20% discount on entry.

Weather:

This experience is not subject to weather conditions as the dive takes place in the Oceanarium tank.

Other Info:

IMPORTANT: You cannot fly within 12 hours after the dive. You must not drink alcohol with 12 hours before the dive. If you are pregnant, or suffering from a cold, hay fever, hangover, cough, breathlessness or ear infection you will not be allowed to participate.

Cancellation Policy:

Bookings for the Dive are essential. All divers must arrive to “check in” for their dive 15 minutes prior to the scheduled start time. Late arrival or non-attendance will result in non admittance to the Dive session. Missing your scheduled dive time is non-refundable. If you are sick and cannot make your session time we require notice and you will need to provide a medical certificate. Our Supplier reserves the right to cancel any dive session should they decide that participation in a Dive is unsafe, or for any other reason which is at the absolute discretion of Oceanworld Manly. Should a Dive not proceed, then Divers will be re-booked at the earliest possible time at the convenience of the Divers, taking into account available places. Vouchers are non-refundable however they are transferable. The supplier must be notified prior to any transfer.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Awesome Experience This was well worth it. The experience of breathing underwater was a little freaky to start with. Once you got used to it, seeing all the fish around you was awesome. The sharks swim very close and the turtle was cute. 13 May 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Awesome experience Came away on such a high having experienced my first ever scuba dive and to do so as a senior citizen and to do this up close to those amazing sharks and rays was the icing on the cake . Tom ,our instructor , was proficient and put us at ease learning the necessary diving skills involved . Major disappointment cat C disc giving me trouble copying all photos to my pc. Can get them up and file disappears later . Cannot get video to display . I have a fairly new PC and get photos from my Canon memory card no problem . Overall Shark Dive good value and an experience I am really happy with . 10 May 2013

I liked the opportunity to get up close and personal with some wild creatures. The staff were friendly and helpful with those who were scuba diving for the first time. I would have liked more time in the water though but the time was amazing. 29 April 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Awesome but also scary! Awesome because you really were in with sharks and out of my comfort zone! Scary because scuba has never been my favourite thing and those teeth on the sharks are sharp! Great guides doing this and definitely a unique experience. The water was freezing and even with 3 layers of wetsuit it made it a little uncomfortable for me. 21 April 2013

Definitely recommend this to anyone considering it, it was such a great feeling to have 3m sharks swimming around you! The staff were excellent and helpful at relieving any nerves before jumping in. Rated 5 out of 5 by was great It was good fun, didnt even worry that your in a tank with sharks. worried to much on breathing. need to remember to tell people coming to watch you that if you do the last dive that they come in aquarium before it closes. our family were to late to watch as they closed the doors before the time we had been told. we missed getting extra photos. remember to tie hair up or put on a cap. my photos they took looked terrible and they spent alot of time in just one place would have prefered to keep walking around. overall a great experience and the dive operators were very good 17 March 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by BEST.EXPERIENCE.EVER! I wasn't sure what to expect from this experience, but it turned out to be incredible. Learning the basics of scuba diving, spending time in the tank with the sharks and other animals and people I shared the experience with were amazing. At no time did I feel in danger from the sharks but it was still exhilarating to be so close to them. I must make a special mention of our insrtuctors, Matt and Kieran. They were incredibly patient, kind and professional. I would highly recommend this experience to anyone who has an interest in animals and/or scuba diving. :-) 6 March 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Incredible experience! This was bought for me for my 18th birthday and was a present I will never forget. The staff are wonderful and are so enthusiastic about the sharks and the dive. The small group structure makes it a personal and fun atmosphere. I had never dived before and they gave more than enough training and skills for me to feel comfortable and relaxed. To be that close to the sharks and to feel that calm was amazing...I was ready to do it again as soon as it was over. Now thinking about getting dive certificate after this intro..just incredible. THIS IS A MUST!!! 6 February 2013
