Get hooked and head out into Port Phillip Heads for an adventure onboard a 42ft Randell, Fly-Bridge sports fisher, or a 36ft Sports Fisher'! Join us for a fun day out on the water and prepare yourself for the challenge, as you try to catch big Snapper, Salmon, Bass Strait Flathead and more!

On the morning of your sport fishing trip, you’ll arrive at Sorrento in eager anticipation of your day on the water and you’ll be met and welcomed aboard by the friendly and knowledgeable skipper. Once onboard, your skipper will instruct the crew to bring in the ropes and from there your fishing journey starts. As we head off to Port Phillip Heads, hugging the picturesque coastline, you’ll be given a briefing on the water, the areas you will be fishing and the types of fish you could expect to catch.

On all Game/Sport trips we endeavour to get out into Bass Strait, however, the weather has a big influence on these charters, and obviously we cannot control what the Weather Gods throw at us! We tend to run charters in rain or wet conditions, however, as a general rule, we do not proceed in wind conditions above 25 knots, in that case we have an alternative trip fishing in Port Phillip Bay when possible, so the locations you will fish on the day will depend on the prevailing weather and tides.

As the boat reaches its first destination, you will be issued with your rod and reel and any of your questions on how to catch that big one will be answered by helpful staff. You will also be given instructions on baiting, how to feel for bites and what fish are in the area. Don’t worry, if you aren’t keen to bait your own hook, the skipper and crew are on hand to help where needed.

After that, it’s time to drop your line overboard. To make your fishing experience easier, we also have GPS and fish finding technology onboard to help us locate where the big ones might be hiding! Any legal-sized fish you catch will be cleaned, filleted and bagged for you, ready to take home and impress family and friends.

Rated 2 out of 5 by overall, very dissappointing This fishing charter, I think, is suitable for first timers or inexperienced fishermen. We thought we were going to catch - as advertised for this charter - sharks and/or snapper but only caught small flathead. These could have been caught off any pier. We were told to be at the pier at 6.30am and at 6.10am one of the other guys got a phone call from the skipper wanting to know where the h#*l we were. We were arriving at the pier. The day we went out was 36d celsius and we were not offered even a drink of water for the entire day. I am aware that we were to supply our own food and drinks but on a day of this heat anyone could have suffered from heat stress. Also, on boarding the boat, the skipper started to cook bacon and eggs and we thought - what a nice touch/treat only to eat in front of everyone - quite rude. Tea and coffee were to be supplied but none was offered, I asked for coffee and it was made for me but I was the only one who got one. Surely a packet of biscuits from the supermarket wouldn't be too much to ask for at $140 per person. Also, we knew that the salmon were spawning at the time so were not interested in the lures and an experienced charter company should know that and not keep trying to target that species. 14 March 2013

Rated 5 out of 5 by If you love fishing this is the trip for you Fantastic trip the crew in Tom and Toby where great value they had excellent knowledge of the water plus some great fishing tips and to top it off a great sense of humour. The fishing was just sensational started the trip off catching some king fish which for pound for pound some of the best fighting fish going around. Then we got on to some salmon and then followed it up with some flathead. Really great day would recommend it to anyone 8 February 2013

Rated 2 out of 5 by Could have been better Told we would go after snapper, thats what I was going on the trip for. I was watching the fish finder and we went over a big school of fish and the skipper keeped going wasn't happy. I new the snapper where in the bay but the skipper headed out to bass straight. I don't think they tried hard enough, but that was my thoughts, I won't be going or recommending this crowd. I even had a mate come along at $140.00 Feel it was a bit of a waste of a day, they where just after our money. 15 December 2012
Rated 1 out of 5 by I would not recommend this to anyone We spent 45 minutes to an hour getting out and back from the fishing location out in Bass Straight, so we ended up with about 3 hours fishing. There were really no fish caught that were worth bringing back other than one person caught a small gummy shark, another 2 small flathead and one squid. When i asked about Snapper I was told they werent bitting only to get out on a different charter 5 days later and caught the bag limit very quickly and was told that the same day i was on RIP Charters they caught bag limits on all 3 charters for the day. Seriously do not waste your money. 4 December 2012
Rated 3 out of 5 by Cant guarantee the weather and fish Time wasted going to pick up others in Geelong. Poor fishing? 2 December 2012
