Head offshore to the Gold Coast's best fishing spots on board ‘SWEET LIPS’ our fast, new Stebercraft vessel. We target snapper, kingfish, pearl perch, teraglin, tusk fish, marlin, cobia, dolphin fish and tuna. Thrill to the scream of the reel as a Wahoo strikes in the white water!

Arriving at our vessel in the early hours of the morning, you will be met by your skipper and introduced to the features of the fishing vessel. The vessel is a new Stebercraft, purpose built to Maritime Safety Queensland's survey standards and powered by a Yanmar turbo diesel engine. The boat is also equipped with the best G.P.S. and Fishfinding technology.

Following a short safety brief, the current fishing conditions, travel times and destination are also discussed.

A full day charter allows us time to travel to the deeper reefs where the larger predators lurk. Depending on season, lures are also trolled, the reel smoking speed of a Wahoo run is unbelievable. It’s quite common to see dolphins swimming alongside the boat and during the whale season, groups of Humpback Whales are often seen breaching.

Upon arrival at the first fishing location, a ‘fishing lesson’ is given on how best to use the rods and reels, baiting and most importantly how to see and feel the bites. Even the most inexperienced angler can catch fish armed with the right knowledge. If you have trouble the first time, your skipper will happily guide you through the process till you master the skill.

Then it's down to the action! It can get very busy when there’s a school of fish under the boat. As you are fishing, your skipper may also put out a float bait or a live bait to lure the bigger predators. Be ready! He may pass you the rod with the BIG one on the line. We also move from reef to reef to maximise our time at sea and maximise our catch.

Food and refreshments: A light snack (Cheese dip, crackers and sliced Kabana) is included and there is always drinking water and soft drinks available. You are welcome to B.Y.O. beverages or fo

Your fish are also cleaned and bagged for you to take home and your skipper can advise you how best to cook your fish.

This experience voucher is valid for 12 months from date of purchase.

Rated 2 out of 5 by wasn't a very enjoyable day It started when driving to the marina, when a white 4wd drove by us, angry at us because we were unsure of what lane we were suppOnosed to be in. It turned out this was the skipper of our experience. On boarding we were instructed on what we should and shouldn't do, including not entering the cabin, we all had to sit on the outside deck. The seas were a bit rough, and when we stopped, a couple of guests were sick. On dropping our lines for the first time, they all became tangled, and all fishing stopped until it was sorted. A couple of fish were caught, and a couple more guests were sick. That was 4 out of 7 not fishing. On collecting the spanner crab pots, I did become ill also, but recovered. On returning through the Southport Seaway, it was very busy with lots of boats and jetskis. One guy on a jetski cut across the front of the boat (he was talking on a mobile at the time). The skipper yelled at this guy, who then started behaving badly and spraying our boat with his wash, thoroughly drenching me. Our skipper became very irate and started chasing after the jetski, weaving around all the boats, some of which were quite large. He chased the jetski for about 10 minutes, until he lost sight of it. We then returned to the dock. I feel the skipper acted quite badly in this matter and should not have put his passengers in a dangerous position. Overall it was not a pleasant experience, and my Husband and I would not go on another fishing trip. 4 March 2013
Rated 2 out of 5 by Would not recommend this again I have been on several deep sea fishing trips and this was the least helpful I have done. Although the water was choppy and I understand that at times there isn't a lot of fish around. We were not offered a drink and lunch was minimal. The fellow I went with was a first-timer deep sea fishing and will now not go on another. I was lucky to have been on other trips so know that they can be an awesome experience. 16 January 2013
