Depending on where you are travelling from there a few different options to getting to Fraser Island. However, as it is an Island, the best options are to get the Fraser Island ferry or barge from Hervey Bay (which can take cars too). If you are travelling from Brisbane the best way is to drive then take the ferry with the overall trip taking roughly 6 hours. This drive offers amazing views and picturesque scenery so the time will fly past. It’s only a 3 hour drive to the Fraser Coast from Brisbane which is the perfect spot to stop for a break or overnight stay before continuing on to the island.
