Forget boring old whale watching cruises! The Ocean Extreme fast boat ride brings an extreme element to Whale Watching, there's just nothing else like it in Sydney. You'll be taken on an exciting and unforgettable journey to see the Whales in their natural habitat on a giant purpose-built fast boat.

The boat is powered by triple 300hp outboard engines, which can propel this vessel to speeds up to 50 knots (100km/h) – speeds far greater than a jet boat.

Your 60-90 minute high-speed whale watching boat transfers from Darling Harbour before turning up the power and blasting towards the open ocean, stopping to pick up extra passengers at Manly Wharf. After punching through the heads and into the South Pacific, you're taken on a high-speed cruise out to see the whales - your skipper is in constant contact with other boat drivers to find the most friendly and approachable whale pods.

All cruises are weather dependent. Please provide a mobile phone number so that the supplier may contact you on the day of the cruise. If cruises are cancelled due to weather, the supplier will contact you ASAP to let you know. Cancelled experiences will be rescheduled for a later date.

Other Info:

Whales are wild and free to swim wherever they wish. There is a high probability that you will see whales, however this cannot be guaranteed. This makes the experience all the more special when you do see whales.

Rated 5 out of 5 Had an absolutely awesome experience.The weather on the day was perfect, and we would have easily of seen more than 20 whales in about 5 different pods. Being on board the jet boat made it very quick and easy to go look at different pods that were a considerable distance from one another. Getting in and out of harbour was also quick and easy with the jet boat, not to mention fun and exhilarating as well. The crew on board were very professional, friendly and knowledgeable, and a big thankyou must go to them for such a wonderful experience. Without a doubt the best way to go whale watching!!! Thanks also to the RedBallon team, your service is so easy and hassle free to use, thankyou so much! 1 July 2012
