Go trail riding through the at sunset and discover the beauty of the native Australian bush just 25 minutes from Perth. Horse riding is the perfect way for you and a friend to experience the magic of the back country at twilight. Afterwards you'll enjoy a gourmet picnic and bottle of bubbly!

Located only 25 minutes from Perth, this private trail ride for two is the perfect escape from a hectic city lifestyle.

When you arrive your instructor will fit you with boots and a helmet and give a short demonstration, teaching you how to stay safe and remain in control of your horse during the ride. Whether you are an experienced rider or a complete beginner, a horse will be provided to suit your ability.

Once mounted and feeling confident you will set off, with your guide leading the way through the quiet trails and bushland adjacent to our farm.

During your twilight ride you will enjoy the peaceful environment, listen to the native birds and keep an eye out for the local mob of kangaroos. Soak up the magic of the bush at sunset as golden sunlight dances on eucalypt leaves.

After riding for 90 minutes you will return to the homestead where your guide will take the horses and leave you to enjoy your gourmet picnic basket. Your scrumptious lunch will, depending on the season, consist of either a Ploughman's Platter including marinated roast beef, olives, cheese and home-made bread, or a hearty chicken, sweet corn and noodle soup with crusty bread and a platter of cheese, olives and nuts. Round off a fabulous morning with champagne, strawberries and chocolate which you can enjoy overlooking the farm... is there any better way to spend a day?

Mariginiup (Waneroo). Just 25 minutes from Perth City and 10 minutes from Joondalup.

Session Length

Rides are scheduled daily. Bookings are essential and are subject to availability. Your trail ride will last for approximately 90 minutes. You are then welcome to linger over your picnic.

Guidelines:

You must be 18 years of age or older to participate in this experience. You should also have a basic level of fitness. We have horses to suit anyone, from complete beginners to experienced riders. This experience may not be suitable for people who weigh over 100kg - please contact us to inquire.

Numbers:

The price quoted is for two people. You will be with your guide during your trail ride and will later be left alone to enjoy your picnic.

Spectators:

Friends or family are welcome to make use of our walking trail or seating areas while you are horse riding.

Weather:

This experience may be affected by the weather. In the case of poor weather conditions we may need to reschedule your experience for a later date. We will contact you two hours prior to your arrival time if your ride is to be rescheduled.

    The instructor who accompanied us on our walk was wonderful as she knew the horses personalities and she was very helpful .The picnic was great. Alison really tried hard to cater for me as I am a vegetarian and also to cater for my husband who doesn't drink alcohol.The food was delicious Wonderful day Most enjoyable

    We had a fabulous time, our guide Jenny was very friendly & adjusted our trail ride to our experience. We enjoyed our picnic and it was a good way to finish the day. Hopefully we shall return.

    I organised this for my wife's birthday and it was the perfect gift! We both were inexperienced with horse riding but the staff and the horses were great and made the experience fun and enjoyable. It was very relaxing sitting on the horse and wandering through the bush, before enjoying our well prepared picnic next to the horses relaxing in the paddock. We'd love to do this again some time!

    Our guide Jenny was lovely and very helpful. I had emailed the company about special dietary needs for the picnic and they covered all the bases. It was lovely.

    It was absolutely fantastic!! Very romantic and beautiful. The horses were gorgeous and our instructor Natalie, was really helpful.
