If you’ve ever wanted to learn about wine, then this wine appreciation course is the simple answer! Experience a 2 hour wine course for beginners right in the heart of Melbourne where you can learn and taste your way through an intimate appreciation of wine with your very own certified Sommelier.

Expand your knowledge whilst learning the basics of wine tasting and appreciation. The two hour tasting will focus on the varietal expression of wines, their history and style. We keep it simple and informative.

Course topics include:

Australian Wine Courses are held on Monday nights at La Vita Buona in the City square. During the wine appreciation session, your sensory evaluation will be educated and honed, so that you can make informed decisions when choosing wine for different occasions. During the evening we will taste through 10 wines and have fun doing it.

There is no need to bring anything other than your nose and an open mind.

This experience voucher is valid for 12 months from date of purchase.

Session Length

This course runs on Monday evenings throughout the year, subject to availability and minimum numbers. The course is 2 hours in duration and commences at 6pm.

You must be over 18 years of age to participate. This course is suitable for anyone with a passion for good wine. No prior experience is necessary.

Numbers:

The price quoted is for one person. We operate with a minimum of 6 and a maximum of 15 people. In the event that minimum numbers are not met, we reserve the right to reschedule your experience for a later date.

Spectators:

Not suitable for spectators.

This experience takes place indoors and is therefore not affected by the weather.

If you are after a night that you can have the tough questions answered or are after a fun, relaxing night without the technical 'wine talk' as well this is for you. There were a couple of interesting wines, but I was expecting more diversity. It also started slightly late but finished on time and it felt rushed. Ben is certainly very knowledgeable and know all the facts. But he certainly know what/how to communicate, in order to deliver information without boring or overloading you. In fact it is the opposite, as he manages to do so in an engaging and entertaining way. Definitely recommend, even if you are going on your own. 20 March 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by I will rave about this experience for years to come! As a wine appreciation amateur I came away from this two our master class with a real appreciation for wine! The deliberate decision to sample Australian wines was a nice start, and as we moved through the whites and reds the colour, taste and fragrance was captured with every sip [and spit] The journey and methods of wine production, the regions and the history completed a really pleasant experience. Now I understand what I like and what I don't like and what to look for in the wine store [rather than just a fancy label or a reasonable price]. From today, I will hold my glass by the stem, swirl the wine to release the flavours and pause to taste. I will not put a spoon in my bottle of sparkling and I will rave about this experience for years to come! Thanks Ben, you were the perfect host - Cheers! 27 November 2012
