Travelling between the Indian and Pacific oceans for over 40 years, this truly is one of the world's great train journeys. This incredible experience includes Sleeper accommodation in Gold Service with ensuite facilities, all meals, and the opportunity to see Australia like never before!
Named after the two great oceans it joins and symbolised by the magnificent wedge-tailed eagle that so often soars above it, the mighty Indian Pacific traverses between Sydney and Adelaide or vice versa. You’ll have many opportunities to leave the train and take in some of the region's highlights, and experience Australia's vast open spaces from a unique perspective. With so many wonderful sights to enjoy, this isn’t just one of the longest train journeys in the world, but also one of the most memorable.

This experience voucher is valid for 12 months from date of purchase.
The Indian Pacific departs from Sydney Central Station right in the heart of Sydney, and arrives into Adelaide Parklands (Keswick) Rail Terminal.
This is an overnight journey. The train departs Sydney at 2.55pm, and arrives at 3:05pm the following day at Adelaide Parklands Terminal. Departs Sydney Wednesdays all year round and Saturdays Jan-March, Sep-Nov. The train departs Adelaide Tuesdays all year round and Fridays Jan - Mar, Sep - Nov.
Must be fit for travel, if have a medical condition or injury Travel Insurance is advised. Gold Service Cabins have upper berths which require access via a ladder. Single cabins have shared facilities. Disabled guests are required to travel with a carer.
Independent Touring, many other guests will be onboard the service at the same time.
Apart from waving goodbye on the station platform, this experience is not suitable for spectators.
In the case of floods which prevented the train travelling we would advise guests as soon as the information was advised to Great Southern Rail, normally 24-48 hour prior, and a choice of alternative arrangements are advised.
IMPORTANT: Please arrive at the station one hour prior to departure with your booking confirmation number. Guests are permitted 2 bags per person of no more than 20kg per bag. One cabin bag per person is required for overnight requirement.
There is a special disabled carriage for guests in wheelchairs, we do require the guest to use an onboard wheelchair during the journey and store their own wheelchair for use when leaving the train. Please advise on booking.
