Experiencing the joy of flying over the beautiful Moorabool Valley Wine Region in an open cockpit biplane. Feel the wind in your hair as you take in the magnificent views, this is truly one of the 2 passenger scenic flights available.

This is a unique experience, it's the only 3 seat open cockpit biplane in Victoria. Built as a crop spraying aircraft, the Grumman Ag-Cat has a dominating presence being over 10 feet tall and is powered by a 300-hp radial engine. As you’ll discover however, the Ag-Cat really is a pussy cat in the air, and an absolute joy to fly in.

Upon arrival at the airport, you will meet you pilot and ground crew, and be given a pre-flight safety briefing on all aspects of the flight. The briefing includes an overview of the flight detailing what you can expect and how to get the most out of your flight experience.

Your pilot will ask both you and your wingman (or wingwoman) where exactly you would like to go and will offer some suggestions to help you decide. You’re more than welcome to be a back seat driver when you’re up flying if you see something you’d like to go and have a look at.

With a history extending back to 1842, Swiss immigrants chose the Moorabool Valley to plant some of Victoria's earliest vines. The picturesque vineyards and farming region is shadowed by the beautiful You Yang mountains and the Geelong region.

The best way to take in the sights is from an open cockpit biplane.

Venue:

Lethbridge Airpark – approximately 60 minutes from Melbourne CBD

Session Length

30 minutes from start-up to shut-down. Allow 45 minutes for the whole experience. Available all days of the week excluding Mondays.

Guidelines:

There is a minimum age 14 years and a maximum weight 100 kg per person. Pregnant women and people with medical conditions that could be affected by flying are recommended to check with their doctor prior to flight.

Numbers:

Flights can be taken for one or two people. We recommend taking someone with you to share the experience

Spectators:

Yes, spectators are more than welcome. There are park benches and tables at the airfield where spectators can sit and tea and coffee available at the aero club. You’re welcome to make a day of it and bring a picnic lunch if you like.

Weather:

We want to give you the most memorable experience we can so clear, calm conditions are best. If the wind is strong, or the cloud too low we will call you to reschedule your flight to a better day. If in doubt please ring before leaving home.
