Join us for one of the most spectacular hot air ballooning rides over Byron Bay's hinterland and magnificent views of the coast and beaches on most flights. Be among the first in Australia to witness the sunrise over Australia's most easterly point!

We have about 20 different launch sites within a 50km radius of Byron Bay, in the Northern Rivers, individually chosen to give you the best possible flights for the prevailing wind direction. As the sun’s first rays lighten the skies, the balloon swells, slowly taking its form. Silently, you feel weightless as you float off into the drifting wind.

Byron Bay and the endless blue ocean are to the east, and the spectacular Mount Warning massive caldera dominating the horizon to the north.

After landing in a farmer’s field, relax and enjoy the early morning atmosphere over a complimentary champagne breakfast.

Please Note: You need to call the supplier the day prior to your scheduled flight between 5pm and 6pm for a weather check and to confirm the exact meeting time. Please also provide you approximate weight.

This experience voucher is valid for 12 months from date of purchase.

Venue:

Byron Bay Region, NSW.

Session Length

We operate 7 days a week, depending on the weather. Please allow up to 3-4 hours for this experience. The flight is 1 hour in duration. Please book at least 1 week in advance. All bookings are subject to availability.

Guidelines:

You must be able to get into the basket and stand during the flight. Children must be at least 4 years of age. You may not be able to fly if you are pregnant, have a back, hip or leg injury or have had a recent operation. We cannot fly anyone more than 14 weeks pregnant.

Numbers:

The price quoted is for one person. Depending on the balloon size, we operate with a minimum of 4 people and a maximum of 13 people in the hot air balloon at any one time.

Spectators:

Children under 5 years of age are welcome to join adults in the chase vehicle (subject to availability).

Weather:

The temperature in the balloon is the same as on the ground. There is no wind chill factor. This is a weather dependent activity - we can only safely fly in calm light winds normally about 3 to 10 kts. In the case of poor conditions, we will reschedule your experience for a later date.

I thought this would be an adrenalin-pumping experience, but was pleasantly surprised at how serene the whole experience was. We were in the air before I realised it and the whole trip was so smooth. It was so quiet and peaceful up in the air, and we were able to look down over the beautiful countryside inland from Byron Bay. The landing was first class, with the pilot negotiating a perfect landing while avoiding fences and trees, and just a very slight bump on landing.

The experience was fantastic. The guys were very casual and friendly yet very professional. I would recommend to everyone. Breakfast was yummy and the butcher birds entertaining. Also the slide show DVD was a great purchase as it gave us pictures from a different view apart from the inside of the basket.
