If you have ever looked skyward and wondered what a real flight is all about, you should try microlighting. A microlight is often described as an ‘aerial motorcycle’. During this microlight training and scenic flight, you’ll get great views of Melbourne and learn how to fly a microlight aircraft!

Microlight aircraft, or trikes, evolved from hang-gliders through the need for safe, strong and transportable aircraft that were able to take off from small runways. They have an excellent all-round viewing platform and you will feel the wind in your hair as you fly! Because of these elements, microlighting is one of the fastest-growing forms of aviation. And now you can learn to fly a microlight aircraft!

When you arrive for your microlight training and scenic flight your instructor will give you a pre-flight briefing. During this briefing you will learn the basics of flying a microlight and about the safety requirements. You will then be seated and harnessed in the aircraft. After the safety checks have been completed you are ready for take-off!

Once you are airborne you have the opportunity to take the controls and get a feel for flying the aircraft. Otherwise you can just sit back and enjoy the experience, taking in the beautiful views. Look out over the city of Melbourne, the coastline and the bay.

This flight may be used towards your time to gain a Pilot’s Certificate if you decide to go ahead with training!

This experience voucher is valid for 12 months from date of purchase.

Venue:

Point Cook, Victoria – approximately 20km south-west of the Melbourne CBD.

Session Length

This experience takes place on the first weekend of each month. Bookings are essential and are subject to availability. You’ll be at the venue for approximately 1 – 2 hours. The duration of your flight will be 60 minutes. Not available in July, August, September due to unpredictable weather.

Guidelines:

The combined weight of the instructor and passenger must not exceed 200kg. Please call us if you have any concerns.

Numbers:

The price quoted is for one person. You will be one-on-one with your pilot during your flight. We can do group bookings for up to 20 people.

Spectators:

Spectators are welcome and may watch your flight from our viewing area. Tea/coffee and snacks are available.

Weather:

This experience may be affected by the weather. In the case of poor weather conditions we may need to reschedule your experience for a later date. Please call us on the day prior to your flight to confirm your booking.

Other Info:

You will be required to sign an indemnity form on the day, prior to participating in this experience.

    John Oliver the microlight pilot was very experienced and explained everything very well. I thoroughly enjoyed the flight, and the 3D view of Melbourne was just great!

    This flight is highly recommended, although probably not for the light hearted. John Collier is a terrific guy and makes you feel comfortable and confident to fly. Highly recommended, couldn't give high enough praise. I will be going back for more.

    Operator was very, very good. Plenty of information and advised in advance any issues regarding the inclement weather
