Rated 4 out of 5 by Bassa A most enjoyable experience.
Having always had an interest in aircraft, including 6 years in the RAAF working on arcraft engines, it was great to have a chance to take off and land an aircraft, all be it on a simulator. The instructer explained the various operations in detail and was very helpful.
I would recommend the experience on a simulator to anyone inerested in aircraft.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Sasho100 Fantastic! So much fun!
I did a one hour flight performing touch and go's at three different airports. The staff member/instructor was great, very friendly and knowledgable. The Simulator took concentration but wasn't too difficult. If you want to see what it's like to be a commercial pilot you have to give this a try. Definitely walked out on a high!

I think the experience could be improved if it was made a little more a real flight. The training could be more lifelike and even the language could be more realistic.
It would also be good if it was possible to record the session on DVD

Really gives you an excellent insight into what it would be like flying the real thing. The instructor was very knowledgeable yet made me feel comfortable with my limited understanding of how it all works. Would recommend it to anyone keen to learn more about flying. Can't wait to give it another go.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Mike66 Well outlined but shorter than stated
Flight experience was an absorbing adventure with flight procedures controls and cockpit layout clearly outlined by an amiable and relaxed First officer. It was a memorable experience. However it was shorter than the stated time of 60 minutes with about 40 mins actually in the cockpit preceded by a 6 min introductory video outside. Graphics were disappointing for this decade with the two cities circuited (Sydney and Hong Kong) rather vague blurs but the cost of upgrading these for 24000 airports would be prohibitive.
Flying a 737-800 simulator was a lot more overwhelming than my attempt to fly a Cessna 172 at Kempsey airport forty years ago. Still, it was a lot of fun.

If you don't want to pay up to $3000 for an hour in the Qantas simulator,
the Red Balloon simulator offers great value at a fraction of that price.
For first timers, this is a great way to get a feel of sitting in the pilot's seat and getting to know the main instruments you need to fly .
A great gift idea for any frustrated pilot.
