Rated 5 out of 5 by Great Fun, very informative Ajoy is fantastic. The depth of knowledge & passion that he brings to his cuisine, along with his sense of humour made a truly memorable experience. During the course I found myself contemplating when I could book another course with him. Definately making a booking to go to his restaurant. 5 May 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Excellent cooking and cultural experience My partner and I decided to do this cooking class after thoroughly enjoying Nilgiri's restaurant. We were not disappointed! Ajoy was energetic and taught us not only about the specific recipes but general techniques for use of spices. I also really enjoyed the way Ajoy taught about Indian culture, why they cook they way they do and why spices have their own significance to daily life. It was an enjoyable lunch, yummy food and even got to take some home! We will be back for another class. 5 May 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Spicy, tasty and terrific ... A real all round experience - chef is as passionate about the health aspects of food as well as the taste (and smell) !! Excellent day out. 18 March 2013
Rated 3 out of 5 by This was good, but not great... Good points... Informative and passionate chef, nice chap. Crammed a lot in the 3 hours, no time wastage Bad points... Too many people doing the course. During the practicals, there were 3 people (on occasion) having to share one pot, thus 2 missed out. Also over-stretched the chef, thus the experience. Food at the end did not do justice to what we had cooked beforehand. Maybe because it was too crowded? I would do this again. But not for this price. 22 December 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by Delightful and tasty I love Indian cuisine and was thrilled to be shown and to be given the chance to re-produce favourite dishes for myself. It was especially thrilling to be given expert tuition. In a relaxed and friendly atmosphere the processes, previously a mystery to me, were fully explained and demonstrated. Best of all was the hands-on experience. A big thank you to Ajoy and his staff for a memorable and beneficial class. 2 December 2012
Rated 3 out of 5 by I learnt, but the chef could do with less talking and more cooking. In terms of learning, I did learn some new techniques especially of Indian cooking. However, the chef talked too much. Sure it's part of the story telling, but there was too much talking and boasting on his experience. Since the class started from 10:30am till around 2:30pm, we didn't get a chance to sit down till the very last when we had our lunch. Lunch was meager in size - enough to hold us for the next hour but not enough till dinner time. Because I received this experience as a gift, I didn't mind so much, but if I were to pay for this, I would have been pretty disappointed. 25 November 2012
