Learn how to write songs using all the tips and tricks the hit songwriters use! This course will teach you the fundamental elements of songwriting, and become familiar with the process of writing and crafting a song.
With a maximum of 3 people per class, you will get virtually one on one attention from an expert in the music industry. You will cover all aspects of the craft of songwriting in great detail. This course is suitable for beginners through to existing songwriters, looking to fine-tune their work to the next level.
Your tutor is a songwriter, composer, record producer with over 30 years experience. He has songs on records in Australia and overseas, TV themes and music in TV/ Film in Australia and the U.S. He has a wealth of knowledge to draw upon, and is focused on helping you craft your songs to get noticed.
You will cover many different aspects of song writing over this 3 week course including: titles, concepts, hooks, ideas, writers block, arrangements, song parts, rhyme and pattern, prosody, imagery, repetition, melodies, insights into how the industry works… plus more.
Australia’s first dedicated songwriting school, now in it’s 8th year!

Camberwell, Melbourne. 10km from Melbourne CBD
Session Length
3 x 2 hour sessions Saturdays at 10am to 12pm. For heavy bookings we can also do an extra session Saturdays at 1pm- 3pm. If needed, we can arrange weeknight courses.
Guidelines:
Minimum age is 13 years old.
Numbers:
A maximum of 3 people per session (it’s usually 2 or 3 people) almost a one on one experience! So great for questions and focus etc.
Other Info:
This songwriting experience is great for absolute beginners, or existing songwriters who want to fine-tune their work to the next level.
Suitability Information:
Probably, yes. There is a whiteboard fairly close for diagrams etc, and so long as they can still hear normal speech. There is no wheelchair access.
