James' bio
My first experiential reward was a year long, personalised astrology reading for working some crazy hours over Christmas. I was 15 years old and from my after school job, it was the best present that I got that year. Since then I've been fortunate enough to try some pretty awesome things, like my first ever loop the loop over a castle in Scotland or getting up close and personal with an army of sharks, what a feeling, what a view! But it's not always about being an adrenalin junkie, some of my most memorable experiences have been much more relaxing and practical; I've learnt to make pasta from scratch, how wine is made (and how to taste it), driven a sports car, and developed a taste for a good scrub down and Shiatsu massage.
We don't often treat ourselves to a new experience and when we do, we remember it, we become part of a special club, it's a simple as that. We become connected to each other, to the places and to the giver of the experience. I don’t know of a better gift or reward than giving someone the opportunity to do something really special, better still do it with them!
Experiences are the ultimate way to reward or incentivise. The work I am doing with corporate Australia and New Zealand is about driving performance and improving workplace culture through higher levels of employee engagement.
