Scale to the top of Brisbane’s iconic Story Bridge to see the city and surrounds from a spectacular 360 degrees and now you can come back to earth in style with our new Abseil climb. If you thought you’d seen everything Brisbane has to offer, think again.
Based at Kangaroo Point, Story Bridge Adventure climb is one of only three such experiences in the world and with our new Abseil Climb it is the only! experience of its kind in the world, no other bridge climb can offer you this opportunity.
After a 30 minute safety briefing you will make your way to the 80 metre summit of the Story Bridge to enjoy uninterrupted 360 degree views of Brisbane and its surrounds. The picturesque Glasshouse Mountains are visible to the north with the world-heritage-listed Lamington National Park to the south. To the east enjoy views across Moreton Bay to some of the world’s largest sand islands, and to the west find Mt Coot-tha and the lush Brisbane Forest Park. Then from the summit you will make your way down the western anchor arm to just below road level for the Abseil preparation and then zip down the Anchor Pier into Captain Burke Park - about 30 metres below. Who needs stairs when you’ve got ropes and pulley’s. You will then be escorted back to base.
Abseil Climbs are led by an experienced climb leader and take approximately 2.5-3 hours to complete, which includes a safety briefing, suiting up for the Abseil Climb. Please note you will be given a blood alcohol test for safety reasons, so no pre-drinks!

Abseil Climbs are available Friday, Saturday and Sunday Mornings, the experience is 2.5-3 hours in duration (closed Christmas Day and 3 days during the River Fire Festival in Sept).
The child's ticket is for young people aged 10-16 years, and they will need to be accompanied by a paying adult (adult tickets can also be found on Redballoon). Kids need to have a minimum height of 130cm. Seniors need to be over 60 years or over. A moderate fitness level is required
You will be Climbing and Abseiling with a group of up to 10 people and each group is under the control of an experienced climb leader who will provide commentary.
There are a number of bistros & bars in the local area as well as some nice walks around the river precinct for family and friends to enjoy whilst waiting for you to return from your climb.
Climbs go ahead in all weather conditions (except during lightening, hailstorms & severe winds). If your departure time coincides with a passing storm, the group will be held until the storm passes and the climb will then depart.
You will be required to sign an indemnity form and undergo a blood-alcohol test prior to your climb. If you fail this test you will be refused entry and you will not be refunded. (Maximum blood-alcohol reading is 0.05%).
